Hollywood Studios or Double up on MK

We will be taking our first trip to Disney soon and spending 3 days in parks. I have 2 boys (3 and 5). We were planning on going to Hollywood Studios one day, but now I am wondering if we should double up on Magic Kingdom. Is Jedi Training and Star tours worth going to DHS? I don't know that they will be that into the shows.

You have to be 4 for Jedi training. Star Tours makes many people motion sick and you have to be 40" tall to ride it. They would probably love Disney Jr. Live on Stage though. It's a tough call if you've never experienced the park. Magic Kingdom has so much to see and do that you will not get it all done in one day. It may be in your best interest to skip HS and double up on MK. Good luck with your decision.

Double up on Magic Kingdom. Hollywood Studios is going to be under so much construction and your youngest boy won't even be able to do Jedi Training because of age ineligibility.

my 4 year old daughter said that the best part of WDW was Toy Story Mania (line wait of 5 minutes with FP). she wanted to go again but i told her that a 135 minute wait (non-FP) wasn't in the cards. She loved disney jr live on stage show too. she absolutely cried and was horrified by Star Tours though.

imo, it was easier to see some of the characters in DHS than MK. Daisy, donald, pluto, goofy in the middle of the park only had 5-7 minute wait, but the toy story duo of Woody/Buzz was a 20 minute wait.

With a 3 day trip and the ages of your kids I would skip HS. We really enjoyed HS this past trip and Jedi training was awesome. Since you have to be 4 for that though, I think I would just wait until your next trip and spend 2 days exploring MK.

I agree, that with a 3 day trip I would probably skip DHS unless you have hoppers and then you could just hop over for a few hours to do Disney JR and some meet and greets...

Unless your kids are Star Wars obsessed I would skip it. There is so much to do at MK you will really appreciate the extra time.

If you are able park hop I would say spend some time in HS but then hop over to MK. HS is not an all day park and with what is going on now it really is not worth it. If park hopping is not an option then double up on MK.

So glad you posted this, I was wondering something very similar! Thanks!

Yeah I have to agree with PP, unless your boys are really into Star Wars, I would skip it.

I agree to skip it. Even with my kids 9 and 10 now, we just did a 1/2 day there. I don't know, it's just not our favorite. We didn't go at all when the kids were younger.

Toy Story would be the only ride worth your time at HW. Especially like others said with so much construction it's kind of sad to go there now.

That being said, we are going to spend the morning at epcot and then spend the afternoon at HW but we are there for 4.5 days. We are doing to double up MK on Thu and fri (early hours on Fri). It's too much for 1 day with a almost 3 yr old. But DH really loves Toy Story and we want to go see Lights Camera before it's permanently closed for his Dad coming on the trip with us.

For a 3 day trip, we would probably skip HS and AK, or at the very most hop to one for part of a day. We would focus on MK and EPCOT.

Unless we have hoppers we'll probably skip DHS on our next trip now that they've permanently closed the Honey I shrunk the Kids playground (which was fantastic). Now the only ride/attraction left for our small child is Toy Story midway mania. He likes the shows, but the other parks have shows AND rides. Until he is much bigger and we can go on the other rides with him, DHS is a waste of a park pass.
