Hollywood Studios - Is it worth it at this point?

Hi. We have a trip to DisneyWorld for August 15 and I just noticed that at Hollywood Studios they still have closed the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Indian Jones Stunt, Beauty and the Beast, and Fantasmic - all things we have loved seeing in the past. Since we are not big Star Wars fans, is it worth it to skip Hollywood Studios this year? Is there any chance any of that stuff will reopen by mid August?

Unlikely to see those open in a month given they require more than flipping the "ON switch" on a ride.

Yes, its still worth visiting. Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railroad is a must. Also Toystory Land.

And yes, there is a chance that some of the stuff mentioned by the OP will reopen by mid-august. More and more things are opening all the time now.

I have heard (read) rumors about B&tB reopening "soonish". Little Mermaid is permanently closed. Word on the street is that we probably won't see Fantasmic this summer and perhaps for the rest of 2021. Have not heard anything about Indy.

I usually make it a half-day park, and then use the Park Hopper to enjoy Magic Kingdom or Epcot for the remainder of the day.

For me, there isn't much to do besides Tower of Terror, Rise of the Resistance, and Slinky Dog Dash. If I rope drop, I'm usually finished by lunch time.

Where are you hearing that Little Mermaid is permanently closed? The website still says "temporarily unavailable."

I did really miss those shows on our last trip, but I still think HS is worth a visit--we enjoy ToT, Mickey and Minnie, and Toy Story Land, and Hollywood Brown Derby is my favorite in-park restaurant. With the crazy long lines in the morning, though, I'd recommend arriving late and just spending the afternoon/evening there if star wars is not important to you.

we enjoyed our time at HS.
Didn't really miss Indiana Jones being closed.
Even with the other shows being closed, there was still enough to do.
While you may not be a Star Wars fan, Galaxy's Edge is worth going to.
MFSR was fun and RoTR is the best attraction at WDW and worth doing even if you aren't a Star Wars fan.
Agree that MMRR is a must do as is Toy Story land.

One of my favorite park rides is HS’s Toy Story Midway Mania, be it WDW or DL/CA.

Worth it? I suggest you make a list for each park to figure out what rides and shows are happening right now to figure out your park priorities.

I’ve realized some parks have only one or two things on my favorites list. Anything else is just filling in time - so I love park hopping.

Hope you have a great time.

There is nothing that has said that VotLM is permanently closed.

Even if you're not Star Wars fans, Galaxy's Edge is worth seeing, and the rides worth riding. I don't fall into the SW fan grouping, though I like the movies. I don't really care for Avatar, but I enjoy Pandora and the rides.

Hello. I just returned from a trip and spent two days at HS. My favorite in all of WDW is Fantasmic, and I certainly missed it. I definitely felt the absence of that, as well as Beauty & Beast stage show and Mermaid. However we love Tower of Terror and Rock-N-Roller Coaster, so just those two are worth a visit.

I am not a Star Wars fan. I’ve never watched a complete SW movie. I’ve tried, I just can’t get in to them. BUT, Star Wars land is truly awesome to look at and the rides are great. Research how to get a boarding pass for Rise. My daughter watched YouTube videos on this and was able to get us group 46 the first day and group 7 the 2nd day.
We skipped Toy Story Land this time but it is definitely worth a visit if you haven’t seen it. ESP if you have young children.

I can't imagine spending the money to go to WDW and not visit all four parks, especially if time permits. As PP mentioned, Runaway Railway and Toy Story Land are great. ToT and RnRC are two of my favorite rides in any park. I'm indifferent towards Star Wars, but the rides are fun and I can still appreciate the detail of Galaxy's Edge.

I would still go to Hollywood Studios if time permits. There are plenty of things to see and do. I agree with you, that the shows and entertainment add so much to that park, but when we go in September we have 3 days planned there.

I think it’s worth it. We love Toy Story Land and the Railway as others have said. I am not a huge Star Wars fan in general (love Mandalorian though). Despite not being a big fan, I can appreciate the beauty of all they have done to bring it to life in the park. And, Rise might be the best ride I have been on in the parks. It is amazing, even if you are not a big Star Wars fan.

This is probably taboo and I will be destroyed for this comment, but I actually think Toy Story Land was better themed and laid out far better than Galaxy's Edge.

Let the negative hate flow my way, but have no fear because I am one with the Force and the Force is with me.

My opinion might change when I finally visit both this weekend. BUT from the YouTube videos I seen of both, I think Toy Story land is the least interesting of the two. Don't get my wrong, I am a BIG fan of Toy Story but from what I see Slinky Dog Dash is the only new ride in the land worth the time. I been on Toy Story mania before and it's fun but not something that's new. So I am thinking I probably spend 30-40 mins in the land and move on. I know I probably spend more time in Galaxy Edge. But we will see lol.

If you don't care about anything in Galaxy's Edge, I'd actually make HS the park I hopped to after a morning somewhere else. The rides there all developed shorter lines in the late afternoon/early evening when we were there twice during late June, because most people come to get a RotR boarding pass and leave later in the day. Watching lines apps, this generally seems to hold true. I'd ride Slinky last just before closing. Toy Story Land is beautiful at night. Actually to me, all of HS is prettier at night.

Hollywood has the latest and greatest at the moment IMO. even if you aren't "big" into Star Wars you can appreciate the rides. Rise is a must, the Falcon ride is a lot of fun. Toy Story and Mickey/Minnie. Then hit a classic like Tower of Terror. That's still a very full day.

honestly i found Epcot to be the one to skip back in January, live entertainment was cut back and there was a lot of construction. just was not feeling it. walking around eating/drinking is never a bad time but you can do that at Disney Springs.
