I made our dining reservations the other day for late Sept, but I am having second thoughts. We want to do HS for an EMH night. We plan on hanging out at the hotel, maybe doing lunch there then heading over to HS. I made dinner reservations for Prime Time, but the menu isn't really doing it for me. Does any one have a suggestion for where to eat at HS? I can be CS or TS, I don't want Brown Derby because it is two credits.

We love Sci-FI. The burgers are awesome - seriously, they are really good! The atmosphere is neat too;) However, if you don't want to sit down, we also enjoy pizza planet. The pizza is pretty good and you can be in and out quickly.

DH love 50's, but I'm not really a fan.... He likes all of the interaction with the waitstaff.

Thanks I am thinking about Sci Fi. I am sure the kids will want to sit in a car, but then the four of us can't have time together. We'll make lunch special. Can't do Pizza Planet, Jersey folks are pizza snobs. I don't think they would let me back in the state if I had pizza south of the Mason-Dixon line.

I don't understand? :confused3 Why would you not be seated in a car?

If you're on the dining plan, try Hollywood and Vine on the Fantasmic Dinner Package. It's still only 1 credit and includes free reserved seating for Fantasmic.

I wouldn't pay cash ($35 - $40 per adult depending upon the time of year), but for 1 dining credit, its not bad with the Fantasmic passes thrown in.

We just finished making our dining reservations and Hollywood and Vine was sold out for the whole day (9/29). We're travelling in a party of 12 so that could be a reason but none of the other restaurants looked that appealing to us. We ended up booking dinner at Captains Grille in the yacht club. It's only a short walk or boat ride from Hollywood studios so we'll spend most of the day there, go eat, and return to the park for the remainder of the evening.

Yummmm....the captains grill idea is a great one. It is a super place. If you want a relaxing CS....we like to eat outside at Starring Rolls (weather permitting) great sandwiches, passable sushi and great desserts and good people watching while you dine!

I've never had pizza in Disney .. I'm interested to see how Via Napoli is when we go - Jersey does set a high standard ;)

If none of the restaurants in DHS seem appealing, definitely try one of the YC/BC or BW restaurants. It wouldn't be much time away from the park. Captain's Grille is a good idea. We haven't been to Kouzzina yet for dinner (we are trying to in June), but LOVE the breakfast .. so that's another idea.

Happy Planning!

I am SOOOOOOO with you about the pizza thing. I don't even go there at Dis. It took me 20 years exactly of living in Florida to find a NJ Pizza Place near my FL home. You know what I mean...I can actually order a sausage sandwich, a pepper & egg sandwich, a sub with capicola (!), and a awesome pizza whenever I want after all these years. Heavenly...:littleangel:

Back to Dis...IMO, go ahead and keep 50s this one time if you've never been. The themed experience is worth it even though it does not have the biggest menu variety. It is one of our faves. Lots of family time and smiles. We never leave hungry...and we're suckers for milkshakes.

Thanks for all the advice. We'll be heading over to HS later in the day and we're staying at the BC. I booked the Capt Grill for lunch, it was one of the places on our list, and DS is dying to have lobster roll. We'll just do a CS place for dinner at HS.

I think this is a good compromise. I also think you will find the Captains Grill to be a nice and quite time to spend as a family over a very good meal. However, be warned that the CS options are even worse than the TS options at DHS. ;)

I would think sitting in a car is a nice treat for you and hubby, as you get some alone time (if you can even call it that). I personally LOVE :lovestruc Sci Fi. Yummy burgers, heavenly ribs, and delish shakes. Its such a fun place too. Very unique atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend this place. My son and I love it here and i think your kids will too! :thumbsup2
