We've done Mama Melrose twice and loved it and also 50's prime time a couple years back- the chicken pot pie was delicious!

They do like Disney Jr, but is the character interaction any better than if we would just do the character meet?

Not necessarily better interaction wise. Definitely better than having to wait in a long line in the beating sun. For some reason the sun shines hotter at HS than any other park in my mind. I think it's because there are very few shady spots. The courtyard where the Disney Jr gang (except Handy Manny) meet has practically no shade and only a small portion of the line is covered. If the lines are long, you're going to roast. You can only meet Handy Manny at the restaurant too.

We really enjoyed the 50s Prime Time Cafe! My boys are picky eaters and loved it.

Same for us...my boys purposely put their elbows on the table!
