We've only been to DHS once, 8 years ago. We ate at Sci Fi Theater and liked it, but we need to do CS this time. Which one would you reccommend?

What type of food do you like/dislike? Our favorite DHS CS meals are at Fairfax Fare (everything is good there, but the Fairfax Salad is my new fave WDW CS salad: http://allears.net/menu/menu_ffare.htm) & the sandwiches/salad at Backlot Express (http://allears.net/menu/men_ble.htm). DH also really enjoys getting a huge smoked turkey leg while as DHS. He looks like a caveman while eating it...but in a cute way.
DH and DS will eat pretty much anything. I like to have lighter food, no greasy burgers or hot dogs.

That salad sounds good. What's the seating like at Fairfax Fare?

It is good! I also enjoyed the taco salad in March, but the Fairfax Salad is plentiful and delicious. The seating area is outside & very large. It's shared by a few different CS in that part of DHS & the tables are covered.

We have eaten at both Backlot and Studio Catering Company....We like both, last time we ate at backlot we were more eh about it, studio catering company is good, i like the Chicken Ceasar wrap, though next time we want to try the toy story pizza place!

Even though others on here don't seem to like it, I would recommend the ABC Commissary and I always thought their food tasted good.

Avoid the ABC Commissary. Last time we ate there--we had a moldy bagel. (Gross.) Since then I've read some "Rate and Review" threads on another site and it sounds like ABC has a pretty bad reputation.

Pizza Planet is fun!

I'm planning on eating CS at Starring Rolls next time - they have amazing baked goods that count toward your dessert and the sandwiches looked fabulous during our last trip. Unfortunately we had just had a greasy burger and fries at Backlot Express just prior to that so nobody was hungry for lunch.

We eat Backlot Express or Pizza Planet.

We had both this past Spring Break

I had the salad, pizza, cookie drink combo at Pizza Planet and was very full. Plus the kids then go play a few games in the air conditioning to cool off.

We always make a stop at Pizza Planet....and we've ate at Backlot as well. Both are good. The Pizza Planet has a really big meal, which includes an individual salad for the adult meals and a personal size pizza, drink and dessert (mickey head rice krispie or cookies are our choices LOL). At Backlot all we remember is hamburgers/sandwiches....etc, but it was still good :)

We loved the counter service we just had at Min and Bil's dockside diner a couple of weeks ago. It was delish! You get a sandwich, chips, drink and a milkshake or cookie. I had the italian sausage sandwich with onions and peppers, my DH had the chicken ceasar (by far the BEST) and our friend had the pretzel bread sandwich with a hot dog. oh my gosh it was surprisingly good.

I am already planning on getting the chicken ceaser sandwich next week when we go back! :cool1:

I didn't even know half these places had sandwiches. I thought they were just snack shacks. Thank you all for posting. Now I have more choices to pick from.

Here's a pic of the italian sausage sandwich meal. All of the sandwiches are basically stuffed inside the bread. They were very very good. :goodvibes

That does look good. We'll have to try that place. Thanks!
