We've got an L.A. trip--first time ever--in September. To help the budget, I always like to try to get some restaurant gift certificates from restaurant.com when they're on sale.

When I look up Hollywood, I come across tons of sections of Los Angeles--none of them marked as Hollywood. Is there any other "section" of L.A. that it's considered to be in? Or, is it just there are no discounts in Hollywood proper?

Any other money-saving tips for L.A. are very welcome! My husband will be attending a conference and we'll be staying at the Renaissance Mariott at Hollywood & Highland.

Thanks!!!

Surprisingly, "Hollywood" isn't a city at all. West Hollywood is and North
Hollywood is, but there is no actual city called Hollywood here in the Los
Angeles area.

The area around the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. And Highland Ave. is,
technically, Los Angeles.

also check out the Farmers Market it's got tons of places to eat.

I would advise going to the Famers Market (there's a really good Cajan place in there the Gumbo Pot here's the website to the markethttp://www.farmersmarketla.com/ )

if you've ever been to the MGM studios in FL. there's an area that's is a mock up of the actual Farmers Market in LA. it's a very historic and fun place to do some shopping and eating it's located on Fairfax just north of wilshire Bl.
it's on 3rd street and Fairfax technincally.
