Haven't seen reviews lately, is this still open? Is it worth 2 TS? It would be for 2 adults, no kids, just wondering how good this restaurant is? ;)

I've eaten there four times. I usually love the food there, though there have been two times I haven't liked what I'd ordered. The service is good to.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. Great food and the ambiance makes you feel like you are not at a park.

Considering my experience there a week and a half ago, I wouldn't hesitate. Fantastic food and friendly service. We had Titi as our server, and she was great.... efficient and very personable.
I wasn't on the Dining Plan, but the way I see it, there's no other place to eat in MGM. Skip breakfast and enjoy your dinner!

we love Brown Derby, but we like lunch Cobb Salad & Dessert so for lunch I do not know if it would be worth 2 credits. But we have had great dinners at BD, I just love the cobb Salad so a small serving just does not cut it for me;) Their Ahi Tuna is very good at dinner.

Does anyone know what the Brown Derby serves for its Fantasmic meal?? I don't see any buffet items on their menu. :santa:

We had great experience at the Brown Derby a couple of weeks ago. Wonderful food, great service, comfortable seating, and nice ambiance. We definitely plan to go back.

We did not like it when we went in 2003. The service was fair (the waiter had no clue when we asked questions); DH's meal was average; I had some type of steak and it was nothing but fat and undercooked. DH had the grapefruit cake dessert and said it had no taste at all. We are thinking of trying it again in September when we go with friends for our wedding anniversary...but it will probably be a last resort if we can't get oen of our favs.

but our only experiences at Derby have been disasters. Maybe it's time for us to give it another try. We've never gone on the dining plan (use Disney Visa points for all our meals instead) but agree that the grapefruit cake was bland when we had it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for Narcossee's ?( I wonder if I spelled that right). We are thinking Spring trip (December was incredible!) Thanks.

For the FDP, you order off the regular menu. We had appetizers, entrees and desserts. The Brown Derby does not have a buffet.

We ate there last month and had a great lunch and service as well (Thanks Ashley:thumbsup2 ). DW had the Cobb Salad and I had the grouper. The atmosphere was elegant without being stuffy and BTW, they make a mean martini:drinking1

One of my favorite places. They have my fav single item in all of WDW which is one of their appetizers, a scallop sitting on pork belly. DH loves that cobb salad.

I like that it's more of an adult atmosphere with a sophisticated decor, nothing too themey. Service has always been very good here.

We just had an absolutely fantastic meal there last week. Even though we were on the DDP, we paid OOP (used our DDE card). While it is more expensive, we didn't think it is so much more to make it worth 2 TS.

DH & I had the cobb salad for our appetizer. Our kids skipped appys. DH & I both had the salmon for dinner and it was excellent, and prepared exactly as ordered. DD14 ordered the rotisserie chicken, but as one of the last seating of the night, they were out. Our waitress recommended the Hatfield Rib Pork Chop to her and said she would put the sides that come with the chicken with it. I have never seen a pork chop that looked like that. It was at least 1 1/2 inches thick, and was so tender. It was like a fine filet, it just melted on your tongue. Now DH & I only got a tiny bite, DD polished that off with the biggest smile on her face. DS is 10 and thinks Brown Derby has the best hotdog on property. Desserts were excellent as always. DH really enjoys the light/freshness of the grapefruit cake, I love the flourless chocolate torte and DD scored again when she tried the pumpkin cheesecake. If you like kid desserts, DS had been waiting months to get another Hidden Treasures.

I would say this was probably the best meal of the trip. Food & Service were excellent!

I've eaten there in Oct, Nov and just the other week. So 3 times in 3 months and all the meals were wonderful. The cobb salad is wonderful and I love their filet. Their desserts don't really impress me but the apps and entrees are what make us keep going back.

If you really want to try it, check out the menu first. See how much your bill would essentially be...if it equates to 2 TS credits (probably about $50-60). Also are you going basic or deluxe? Deluxe includes appies but basic does not. I can't see any signature restaurant equating to 2 TS credits with just drink, entree and dessert. If you still want to try it, go OOP.

Yes, go! It's an aquired taste, but their grapefruit cake is my favorite!

This is my favorite park restaurant, maybe my favorite wdw restaurant. We've had both lunch and dinner there, and both are fantastic. Even the pasta my boys had off the kids' menu was deemed "awesome and the best".
I always make sure we have an ADR for our trip!
