Hollywood and Vine

Nice variety of hot foods, salad bar, dessert/ice cream bar w/ self-serve toppings, nice character interaction with Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. I enjoyed the food, but I'm not too into self-service.

It was okay, but not as good as the other buffets we tried. It was definitely the least expensive though. :):):)

I'm going to be honest here so please don't get all mad at me. H&V is the WORST meal we have ever had at WDW. We had Thanksgiving dinner at H&V in 2001. The food was cold, bland, and rubbery. Even the desserts were disgusting. The service was nonexistent. We all got sick after our meal here. We will never go back and I could never recommend anyone eating there.

I think that its the best value meal at wdw.. the food is not bad the selection is a good variety, and the wait isnt that bad.

We had breakfast there on our last trip and will never, ever go back!!! The food was just plain disgusting and the service was not good. The character interaction was non existent.

Sorry!!

:(

WoW. Thanks for the replies. I think I may just skip this one. I think we'll try another.

Those sound like pretty poor meals. Our experience was much better. We dropped in on the spur of the moment last May, around 2:30, and the lunch crowd was just clearing out. The characters gave us enough attention, and we had no kids.

We skipped most of the salads and went straight to the entrees, which we liked. I thought the desserts were nothing special, but we were quite happy with the entrees so we chose to go back for more of those. I'm sure that we left quite satisfied and would eat ther again for lunch. We're not big buffet people, either, especially for dinner, so I doubt if we'd try it then.

It worked out well to eat a late lunch, in the middle of the hot day, and then we ate lighter at dinner.

We had an awsome experence there last January. We had decided to just skip fantasmic because it had been raining and the decission about the show being held was not going to be made until 15 minutes before the show. We did not have the fantasmic package and were leaving the park to go to a resort for a hot sit down dinner. As we passed H & V we were invited in for dinner. I told her if they had any fantasmic packages left we would do just that. The CM replied to come on in. We did and were so glad. The place was not crowed and we had the best service we had all week. Our CM kept our drinks full, plates clear and just came by to chat. She took my DS over for a peak at the desert bar and told him she would check by to see if he had eaten enough for desert. Eat he did as well as DH and I too. We found the food hot and delicious. For DS they had the "good" chicken tenders instead of the "bad" nuggets! There were serveral meats including a wonderful pork dish and some of the best mashed potatoes anywhere. Just as we finished our meal the skies cleared and we strolled over to the show a few minutes before it started. It was one of our all time favorite evenings. All resturants can have a exceptionaly good or bad evening. We had a bad experence at CP and we seem to be one of the few that have ever had that happen. We were very happy with H&V

we had a wonderful lunch at H&V in May of 2002. The food was very good, hot and fresh. The Character interaction was amazing. We have the best pictures from H&V. The kids got a kick out of how the characters would treat "Granny" (my mom). Her back was to the isle where the characters walked by. I think everyone of them "did" something to her, from taking her hat to using her head as a prop, etc. The service was good too.

It's interesting to see all of these negatives. I had read nothing but good reviews about H&V on a previous post about 1 month ago. We have PS for breakfast there in May. I am going to keep them bad reviews or not. I hope I don't regret it.

I see it like this ... I think that Sci-Fi has the worst food in WDW, but others do nothing but rave about it. So I take the good with the bad.

We had breakfast at Hollywood and Vine last June and had a great time. The food was good and there was a nice selection. The server we had was excellent. The real fun was when Minnie and Goofy started dancing. Most of the people in the restaurant got up and went over to watch them. It was quite a site!
We are planning another breakfast at H&V this June.

We LOVE Hollywood & Vine! :D We eat a character lunch here every trip down to the world. The interaction is one of the best in my opinion, and the food is great, too!

They have a wide selection of meats including a salmon that my hubby loves, and lots of great sides, too. My favorite is the ice cream bar for dessert!;)

I agree with the previous poster - everyone has different tastes/opinions & different experiences at each restaurant. Some places listed (like Sci-Fi) that are considered great, we thought were just awful!

Hope this helps!

We have eaten at H&V several times and have never had a bad experience. We found the food hot and tasty and have had a great time.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Been there for lunch twice-excellent food and excellent character interaction. Thought the food quality was better than ANY OTHER PARK restaurant buffet (and we've been to most of them) -will go again next trip.

Been there for breakfast- food good, character interaction bad, won't go back for that one, too crazy and too rushed.

We ate lunch here in November. The food was ok. My 4 year old DD loved it. She still talks about it. It was by far her favorite meal of the trip. She's a Minnie fan and loved Minnie's fancy dress and getting to dance with Minnie and Goofy.

If it were just DH and I, I would skip it. But, we will definitely return with the kids.

Sorry to say, we ate there and within 2 hours, 3 out of the 5 of us got sick. I did not think the food was hot enough, so maybe that is why they seem to have problems?? We ate late, so some foods may have been sitting at a not hot enough temp. for too long.

Hollywood & Vine is great!!!

My fiance and I were there for the character breakfast last July. The atmosphere and food were great. All the characters were going to every table taking pictures and signing autograph books for the kids! The characters even stopped by our table for some pictures!

If you haven't been to Hollywood & Vine, I'd recommend trying it at least once.
