Hollywood and Vine

Well, I haven't been to H&V in a couple of years but I think the food was pretty good for buffet. Not excellent, but not bad either.

We were there two weeks ago on Thursday Aug 17th, for the F! dinner package. I liked the food myself, but I'll say I'm not a picky eater. My family didn't think it was the best buffet, that award goes to Crystal Palace, hands down. They had a nice selection of salads, some Asian vegetable dish, nice selection of breads and rolls. Overall, I liked it. We wanted a F! package and we weren't doing brown derby, cost too many dining credits, and we didn't want just Italian food. It was nice, the restaurant is very nice, a 50's diner kinda atmosphere. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We've gone twice as we always try to give every place a second chance in case of an "off night." This is the only restaurant we wish we had stopped after the first visit. You could not pay us to eat here again. That being said, every one has different tastes, likes/dislikes, and if it is something you think you might want to enjoy, you should try for yourself.

We just ate there on 8/27 with the F! pkg. I think if we did the pkg again I'd try MM first. The buffet wasn't bad, but it wasn't the greatest eiether. Found stuff to eat, and was satisfied. Didn't leave hungry that's for sure. I think it is what you make of it, I had lower expectations going in and really wasn't dissapointed.

Agree that H & V is fine, not great not awful. Enjoyed Mama Melrose very much last year. We tried 1900 Park Fare and liked it very much this year. Great character interactions, the Stepmother & Stepsisters are hilarious! IMHO, the best buffet in the World, by far, is Boma.

It's like a Ponderosa or a Golden Corral where the food has been sitting out waaaaay too long. Or a bad hospital cafeteria.

We found enough edible choices to leave full, but that's not saying very much considering how much they charge to eat there. We have no plans to ever eat there again, for whatever that's worth.

At there last year. Food was kind of poor like a Golden Corral but not terrible. We would not go again but other places in Hollywood Studios don't get good food reviews, except Brown Derby and people say it's not worth 2 DDP.

We booked Mama Melrose for the fantasmic dinner package and needed a lunch. I picked Hollywood and Vine only because of the characters. Little Einsteins is not on TV anymore. We are thinking about changing our lunch to Sci Fi for the fun experience there but people say the food is bad there too. Which place do you think is more fun for a 4 year old boy???? Is the food really bad at both places???

Well, I enjoyed it last year. Good salads & dessert, lol. Sci Fi is great also.

Haven't been to Hollywood and Vine but wanted to say that Little Einsteins is still on tv. I record it every morning for my dd. It's JoJo and Goliath that's not on anymore so dd won't know who they are when we go for breakfast in a couple of weeks. I wish they would replace them with better characters.

H&V is well...just boring. We went for breakfast and it was just ok. It is pretty hard to ruin bacon, scrambled eggs etc. I am not a big breakfast person...so they really did a great job on my yogurt, fruit and bagel...lol:rotfl2:

I would say it is a standard breakfast but nothing fancy at all. Go if you want to see the characters...our children enjoyed dancing with them.
