Hollywood and Vine

[We are going to be in WDW in August and have booked the Fantasmic Package at Hollywood and Vine. I have been reading some very scary reviews about this restaurant. Does anyone have any recent reviews so I know if we should chose another restarurant. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about the reviews of others because it's all based on our own opinions... Want Mine too??? We went to H&V last year and we all thought the food was good...Not great...Good. There were things on the buffet that each of us thought were great though. If you like the looks of the menu (go to www.allearsnet.com to get the menus) then I would say don't change reservation plans.

First of all I agree with Ms. Mouse. It's all opinions anyway..and believe me everyone's got one! LOL.
With that said...
I didn't enjoy H&V at all. I thought it was bad food..bad atmosphere and bad service. Meanwhile my DH LOVED it. All except he did agree with me about the service our waitress was horrible.
I'd say don't change your ADRs. You may LOVE the place. We've almost cancelled before with CM and Sci Fi...but I'm glad we didn't b/c now those are 2 of our favs.

I have been on several occasions, each time with a different group of friends or family who were visiting - and on all occasions we had good and friendly service, and everyone enjoyed the foods that suited their tastes. DD likes the kids buffet and of course the dessert buffet is always a hit!

I do find the tables in some areas to be close together - we always seem to be near the window to the right of the entrance - most times we have been with a group of 6 or more, and the atmosphere is "diner" like I would say - far from fine quiet dining - but in my opinion - I would keep the ADR!

We really like H&V. Planning to check out the new character lunch this September. But our family does well with buffets. Seems like plenty to choose from and the service was great.

I haven't tried Brown Derby but I don't care for MaMa Melrose. So if it were me, I'd stick with H&V!

I agree, keep the ADR, you might find that you like it. We (DD5 & I) ate there in June. It was not the best or worst buffet I had eaten at. The food was hot and there was a nice selection. DD was happy Mac & Cheese & fresh fruit and ice cream sundaes. I tried some different dishes.

I choose H&V as part of the Fantasmic Dining Plan. Didn't want to use 2 TS meals for Brown Berby with DD5 and didn't think DD would like the food offerings at Mama's. It was a good choice for us.

I find that alot of places that get mixed reviews we like.. Now H&V was ok, I dont think Id go back BUT your family make like it. This trip we are trying PT next trip I want to try Mamma Melrose..

We all liked it! I had read the bad reviews too but we went anyway and were not disappointed. No problems with food or service. Give it a try.

We just ate there a couple of weeks ago and it was fine. Some of the food is pretty good and some just okay. I liked the creamed corn spoon bread! My DS said the meatballs were really good.

We were there in June and loved it! They had this chicken satay with peanut sauce that was wonderful and we also loved the corn spoon bread. Yummy desserts!

Corn Spoon Bread... I could not think of that the other night. I really liked that!
