I just booked a backup ressie of H&V for 11/24 at 9:05...- Has anyone been for breakfast? Hope I don't regret this. :confused3

We had breakfast at H&V back in May. I liked it better than most to be honest. It wasn't very crowded so my kids really enjoyed the character interaction. The food was pretty good as well. We will definitely go there again in March or April when we go back.

We thought the food at H&V was better than the food at Chef Mickeys. Glad to see they are making character changes. We had JoJo and Goliath back in Dec. 09 and we couldn't even remember the Lion's name because we hadn't seen the show in so long. Would've loved Handy Manny then.

I wouldn't hesitate go back to H&V for breakfast. I don't know about lunch or dinner because I've read such horrible reviews (and not many favorable ones).

Breakfast there was good. Good variety and fresh. The place wasn't jam-packed, so you didn't feel rushed.
One thing I didn't like here was that if your child didn't immediately gush over the characters, they just walked away. I noticed that happening with several tables.

we've never had breakfast there, but have had dinner there twice in the last year. i found it to be perfectly fine and had no issues with the food. both times were very quiet with low crowds in the restaurant. in fact in april it was such a small crowd only one side of the buffet section was running. we have booked it for february for lunch with handy manny for my son.

H&V has always been one of our favorites, especially with Chef Mickeys Buffet getting harder and harder to get in to. We also like the Chrystal Palace.

We have this booked for breakfast in December. I've been on the fence about it because of the reviews on food.

As for characters, is it June, Leo, Handy Manny and Jojo?

All my little DS wants is Quincy. So I guess we'll line up outside Playhouse Disney again just to see him. I do want to try this breakfast though. We've never been!;)

Went for dinner in 2008. Was OK, but didn't really care for it. Said, I'd never go back there....

but, went again in 2009 for lunch mostly for characters.... food was OK but not really good, nothing special. Waitress brought DS plenty of fresh delicious strawberries that were not on the buffet - that made him happy!... place was near empty, characters (Little Einstein) were fun... still, I said I'd never go back there again... One thing I realized is there are many characters in Hollywood Studios, the character meal was not necessary... but...

OK... next trip in Dec. 2010, guess what? Scheduled a breakfast ADR. Mostly because Handy Manny is there, and possibly Agent Oso coming soon. I'm curious about characters changing there. And I have some dining credits I can use up since we are on the deluxe dining plan.... Looking forward to breakfast!

I wonder what I'll do next trip?

We went for breakfast about a month ago and enjoyed it. The restaurant was not full at all and the characters spent a lot of time with our kids (ages 4, 4 and 2). The food was good, nothing stand-out, but typical breakfast food. Since my kids love breakfast food I enjoyed sitting at a meal where they actually ate a lot. I thought it was comparable to Chef Mickey's food and DH commented on one dish, I don't remember what it was, that the one at H&V was actually much better than CM.

This was my second favorite character breakfast, only surpased by O'hana. Leo, June, Handy Manny, & JoJo were there in June, but JoJo is to be replaced by SA Oso at some point. I like that there was cold cereal there and I never saw that at another character breakfast we went to.

Hollywood and Vine -- I just don't understand why Disney is so slow to get ride of the outdated Einstein characters. Come on.... Hollywood Studios has so many possible choices for a character meal -- Toy Story, Monsters, Power Rangers (not anymore), Up, Incredibles, etc.....

Why stuck on the Einsteins? We made our ADR, just hoping that by December, the other Einsteins are gone too and replaced with more recent and more popular characters.

Sorry for the hijack, as this has nothing to do with dining...but it's good Quincy info!

If you can do an EMH at DHS and go to the Playhouse Disney dance party, you may see Quincy there. We went to one on my daughter's birthday trip last late November and Quincy was there. There was a lot of interaction in the way of dancing (not much talking to the characters here, as the music is pretty loud) and impromptu picture taking (no photopass that I can recall) and Quincy was out for quite a long time. Many characters came out (we had JoJo, Quincy, Annie, Handy Manny, Pluto, Goofy, Minnie, Mickey, and a couple others I'm sure I'm not remembering, and we were only there for about a half hour of the party) and all of the kids there seemed to be loving it.

Hey thanks! That's great info. My DS is a huge Quincy fan. Last spring we hung out in front of playhouse disney until he showed up and that was a real thrill...;)

This would be fun for the rest of my kiddies though too... thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2

We had breakfast there this past January. The food was good, Leo and June were great, and we had no complaints. We had an early ADR and were done right before rope drop so we got to miss that....I hate the HS rope drop show thing they do! Because we were already "in the park" we were at the head of the mad crazed mob running to get on TSM.

Oh and this is the one character dining my kids asked to do again on our next trip.

Look at it this way: it's hard to screw up breakfast. H&V breakfast is pretty much as good as any other generic breakfast buffet at Disney. The characters may or may not be to your liking, but the good news is that it probably won't be crowded, so if you do want to interact with them, it will be quite possible.

Because they are great and, as the show still airs daily, many kids such as my DS3 love the Little Einsteins! Maybe they've been around for a while but they are new & much beloved in his universe!
