Trying to pick a fun place for the kids - already tried 50's Prime Time and didn't like the food. Thought we'd do something different!

I dont know about Hollywood and Vine, but Sci-Fi is fun! The atmosphere is really cool! The food I thought was only so-so. I wasnt totally thrilled with the selection or the taste.

We are going to Hollywood and Vine this time though to see Jojo, and Little Einstiens. If you have younger ones Id try the Hollywood and Vine, I think ages 6 and up would love Sci-Fi.

we have done the fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine, and its nothing outstanding. The only reason we have done it was because it was the cheapest choice for the package. We have never been to Sci-Fi, but if you are looking for fun, I wouldn't pick Hollywood and Vine.

Neither is stellar, but we really didn't like H&V. I would pick Sci-Fi, and it is one of DS's favorite spots!

but I was thinking about and ADR for lunch.

Is Brown Derby the best choice for dinner?

SciFi has fantastic atmosphere, but so-so food and prices which are too high to justify. It's fun for dessert. I'm a big science fiction and b-movie buff, so I consider SciFi a great place to cool off at. The kids will enjoy it!

Hollywood & Vine has better food - more choices and better value. However it is just your basic restaurant - no theming which is going to excite the kids. My guess however is they will like the food better than SciFi's.

So I guess it comes down to whether you want a meal, or just a quick bite to eat while you cool off.

We vote Sci Fi!

We had lunch there a few months ago. It was so cool to get out of the sun and heat of the day (and noisy crowds) and go into a cool, dark, and very quiet "drive-in." Our daughter loved the car that we ate in and thought that the movie trailers and shorts were hilarious.

We had burgers, fries, and a milkshake and all were excellent. I dont know if I would order more complicated items there, but the burgers were great and the milkshake delicious.

It was also a really nice break from touring MGM, too. The restaurant must be the quietest at WDW -- everyone was so intent on listening to their "speakers" that we really felt rested when we left!

We didn't try SciFi on any previous trips because I had read so many bad reviews. Then a friend told me that this is her kids' favorite and how could we miss it? So glad we tried it this time!

DS & I ate lunch at SciFi last Aug.
We have it booked again for this Aug - DH will be joining us.

We had dinner at H&V - I believe in 2001

atmosphere sci fi....food hollywood and vine..

Lunch at H&V now has JoJo and The Little Einsteins...definitely worth it if your child likes either of these shows! The buffet was great too!

Definitely Sci-Fi...we always seem to make it the first dinner of our trip. DS4 loves the cars, and the old clips on the screen are a lot of fun. People seem to dislike the food, but I think it is standard theme park fare for this type of restaurant...the ribs are good.

Oh you must go to Hollywood & Vine!!! We went a couple of weeks ago for the new Playhouse Disney character experience and it was so much fun! The entertainment is so great - my kids were up dancing to the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and "mixing the batter". They recognized the Little Einsteins and JoJo and Goliath more than any other characters and had so much fun dancing with them and doing the conga line through the restaurant. It was the highlight of their trip for sure!
