Holidays with no parks, ideas?

We love resort hopping. Agree with looking at all the gingerbread houses and how the resorts are decked out for the holidays.

We're actually doing that this year in early December. Doing a day at Universal and then moving to a DVC for the rest of the week.

... book a breakfast or dinner reservation at Topolino's - ride the Skyliner there.
We are staying offsite Thanksgiving week and want to book one character breakfast. Had considered Chef Mickey but didn't know about Topolino's. How would we go about riding the Skyliner there? It won't be a park day for us.

We highly recommend this! We are only doing 2 ADRs on our upcoming week+ trip and one of those is Topolino’s breakfast. Did it last year and loved it and great deal for the $ compared to many others!!

After eating you can exit the hotel and ride the Skyliner from the rear of Topilino’s. We enjoy riding the Skyliner as it offers such a unique perspective!!

The one challenge would be what you hope to do while on your Skyliner tour. If you’re just planning to ride it from Riviera to a station and back you will be fine. If you want to take a long, leisurely ride to stop and enjoy the resorts along the path, I would recommend driving to Disney Springs after breakfast then taking a bus back to one of the Skyliner resorts and starting the adventure from there. Your ADR includes parking during your meal but the car is not supposed to be left there after that.

Tour the deluxe resorts, have dinner/lunch at one of them.
Are there any typically easy walk-ins for lunch dinner at a resort - cafe type restaurant? We have 11 people but don't need to all sit together. We want to have a non-park day visiting resorts one day during Thanksgiving week but I'd prefer not to have to plan where at 60 days out.

Many of the resorts offer quick service options which do not require reservations. I would recommend looking at the resorts you’re considering and links to their dining options will be there.

You would just need to park at Disney Springs and take a bus to the resort you’d like to dine at. Disney is extremely strict about parking at resorts unless you are staying there. Too many guests attempt to park at resorts without staying there or having an ADR so they have really tightened up access to their parking lots to ensure guests staying there have a place to park.

Thanks for the suggestion. My daughter had wanted Chef Mickey's for the kids but I'll send her the Topolino's link. Might be less crazy. We will have 11 people and a double stroller so might just ride the Skyliner from the Rivera station and back. How long of a ride is that? My husband and I will be there in advance so we'll check out the logistics of a longer ride.
