Holidays & Seasons Swap: COMPLETE

You have such a steady hand. They all look machine cut they are so perfect.

I love the turkey. It does look like the skin when it is properly cooked. Please don't ask if I have ever cooked the skin properly. :rolleyes1

If you need anything at home, just let me know. I am only a short ride away and book fair doesn't last past this Friday.:hug:

The first turkey I ever made (the first Christmas Eve that DH and I lived together) I cooked upside down and never took the bags out!! Then, when I took it out, it was still partially uncooked in the middle! Yeah...things have gotten better, but I'll never live it down considering my parent and DH's were there for the occassion!

LOL just this past Sunday I cooked a chicken upside down! I have cooked a number of full chickens before...and the little popper wasn't on 'top' (I was thinking they forgot to put it on there lol) and I thought all was beautiful.

When we went to cut it (the skin looked amazingly golden brown and crispy, I was beaming proudly) we cut right into the breast bone and DH and I looked at each other like "what the?" It took of 5 mins of trying to cut different areas before we realized that I cooked it upside down.

it was still tasty. lol. hopefully DH doesn't bring it up at Thanksgiving and embarssass me in front of his 239,084 family members. (I'm exaggerating the amount, it's usually around 25 )

Traci-your groups are amazing as always!! You are so talented and creative-you always do awesome work! I hope things get better for you-family stress is no fun. Sending lots of P & PD your way!!!

Traci those are georgeous!!! I love the turkey & pumpkin pie especially :) WOW!!!

For Group 5B, can my theme be a general...Santa Claus? Would that be ok?

PS, sorry I took so long to think about this!

Hello,

I have a new Deep Cut Blade and I haven't been able to get it to cut. What I finally did was a multi cut about 4 times. Does anyone know if this is what you have to do everytime to work the deep cut blade? Thank you.

Elaine

I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to scrapbooking even though I've been doing it now for 6 years. What/How do you use the library cards? I love them.

Elaine

It's Cloud9Design by Colorbok called "witches brew". I bought it at JoAnn's. The double sided pattern is what I used for the mats (drippy stripes). Thanks Shawn!

Do you still have a full sheet of it that you could post? My J's is horriable so I know they will not have it, but if I can see it maybe I can find it elsewhere, most likely on line.

I only have scraps left. I tried to google it and couldn't find it anywhere. :confused3 I have enough left of the bottle portion on my scrap to make 2 mats but not the reverse side background drippy stripe. I could check at my JoAnn's to see if they have more paper and either make you a set of mats or I can cut the bottles off this scrap and send it to you. I can send you a few sheets of cardstock if they still have some at JoAnn's as well. The back is drippy stripes (like my mats) and the front is orange flames with a green drippy border around 3 edges and the bottom edge has a witch cauldron with a frog climbing out in the lower left corner and bottles all along the rest of the bottom edge. Does that help?

The info. on the paper says CLOUD9DESIGN 12x12 double-sided cardstock by Colorbok

I wanted to go ahead and check in for the November check in. I am actually 100% done (but have no idea how to post pictures which is so sad since I teach technology). If I can ever figure it out I will post a sample of my groups. Angie

Hi Elaine,

I use the library cards & pockets for a journaling space. I've also used the space for additional pictures or memorabilia. It's a fun little interactive piece.

Sorry I have no answers about the deep cut blade for the cricut - I haven't used one of those blades.

I managed to pick up some $$ today so hopefully I'll pack up this week and mail next weekend:thumbsup2

correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think she wanted us to mail until after the holidays.....

Yes, that is right. I would like most of you to wait until after Chrsitmas to mail. Our overseas swappers are the exception however:thumbsup2

sorry, I forget that it takes so much longer to come over from the UK.

Are you using the Deep cut housing and the blade? or just the blade? Because you MUST have both to make it work properly.
Now with that being said what is the thickness of the chipboard you are using?

Im starting this swap tonight after House Hunters International.

It will get there before the holidays :guilty: buts its quite a small package and it gives time for the PO to lose it, find it, send it back to me and me to send it out again (its only happened once so far, but......). And with all the extra security round parcels at the moment it'll probably take a good month to get there! I figure if I mail next week or the week after it will land after Thanksgiving and hopefully not be in the way too much.
