We would love to stay at the VWL during the week between Christmas and New Years - someday. Maybe next year, but more likely not until the following year. We're wondering if this is difficult to reserve at the 7 month window?

(Yes, I know I have issues planning that far out! But if I don't ask the question now I will forget to ask it altogether!) :)

I booked Spring Break 2009 at VWL during the 7 month window. This was a Studio room. I tried to book VWL for this Christmas during the 7 month window and had no luck. They did have a one bedroom available but I wanted a Studio due to the higher seasonal rates for DVC points. It depends on what type of room you're wanting.

VWL during the Christmas holiday time is going to be difficult at 7 months. It is one of the smallest DVC resorts, and the charm of Christmas decor there is not to be beat! I'd plan on doing like we do....just visit the resort for dinner or something. In fact, when we are at the "world" during Christmas decor time, we visit ALL the Disney resorts. It's so much fun to see the gingerbread houses, and trees etc.

We phoned right at the 7 month mark this year for Jan 1 and 2 (2Br) and there was nothing available even for those two dates at VWL - we couldn't get in until Jan 3. We went on the waitlist and it still hasn't come through (I check every day though:surfweb: ). So, I would imagine you would be even further down the waitlist if it was for before Jan 1.

hey if it helps - AKV is almost as nice as VWL for Christmas time...

dec is just a hard month for any reservations at VWL - it is just so special during this season.

I have a friend who was able go get a studio for 12/24 through 12/29 or so at the 7 month mark. I was shocked when he got it, but he did with no problem. I guess there's always hope!

I agree that there is always hope. I just wouldn't count on being able to book VWL that week. Book the home resort at 11 months, give VWL a shot at 7 months and if it works out, that's great. If not, you're still at WDW during Christmas and as Diane pointed out, WL is open to visitors! :santa:
