Just going to try to be someplace that not everyone else is. Like at home. It's a pain because our town does a big street fair on Labor Day weekend, and the parking lot for our church (located about a block from the street fair) is actually a city parking lot, and we don't have anywhere to park. Unless we show up for church at least a hour early. And then we can park on the street (if we can find a spot). Last year I had my son drop me and pick me up.
I'm thinking this year I'll just go a church that's close to my house.
Heading to Pittsburgh right after school tomorrow for the University of Dayton vs. Robert Morris University football game on Saturday. Soooo ready for their football season to begin. Go Flyers!
I'm going to the Decatur Book Festival on Saturday which is looking like rain and it's a lot of walking around the area and to get to the different venues. We shall see how long I last. LOL
And my husband and daughter are going to Dragon Con on Sunday. I can go with them if I want I just don't know if I will be willing to put up with all the crowds 2 days in a row so I shall see.
Monday I plan on being a bum and finishing up the painting on the Evil Queen Heart Box I'm making for my Evil Queen halloween costume. When the halloween shops around here open, I'll be picking up a fake heart, hollowing it out, adding lights so it will glow and putting it in the box.
Labor Day weekend - so I will labor. Been neglecting the basement so will spend part of the last weekend of summer in the basement organizing, throwing out, cleaning, and vacuuming. It will be a quiet time for me because repeated pleas for assistance from the rest of the family have been ignored.
Camping on Cape Cod with my Cousin's Ex-Husband. Saturday, Middle DS and Oldest DS are doing a 50 mile bike ride for his cycling merit badge and Youngest DS, DH and I are providing support and then we and the ex husband are meeting up with my cousin and her new husband and my other cousins for s'mores as she's also camping at the beach this weekend. Sunday. we're meeting up with some other friends who are also camping on the Cape and spending the day at the beach.
We have a weekend season plan for the Oakland A's. As sucky as they've been this year, we still go. We gave away Sunday's tix since we're hosting a family get-together. But there are fireworks on Saturday night, set to music by Green Day, so that's good!
Mowing a lawn on Sat. Sunday driving to ses ds2 to give him new plates for his car and then Monday getting ready for my new job as an adjunct professor at the local university. I just retired after 38 years of teaching high school mathematics and this came into my lap in the last 2 weeks.
