I'm sorry it took so long to get back to the boards, lots of work to catch up on after the trip to see the Mouse, but I think I'm caught up now.
On Sunday Dec. 24th DW and I were checking out of PR and into SSR, this is the first time that we have ever switched during our stay, and if I have a choice it will be our last. It was nice to enjoy two different resorts, but I didn't feel settled until I was at the final resort for our stay. Anyway we spent the morning eating breakfast on the beach watching the monorail go round and the ferry go back and forth between MK and the TTC. We lounged in the hammocks and strolled along the walkways around the grounds, which are gorgeous. While we were laying in the hammock closest to the TTC an CM came out with the tractor to grade the beach for the day, he hit and knocked over 2 trash cans because the tractor was wider than he thought as he entered the beach. It was a great laugh for us, and he was laughing too, especially after he realized that there were people on the beach. After kicking around the PR and taking many pictures throughout the morning, I will post some later I need to figure out how to do that first, we decided on a taxi to transfer over to SSR. It only took about 8 minutes to get there and it was well worth the $20, w/ tip that we spent. We wanted to make sure to check in at SSR before the rush so that we would have a chance to get a room with a DTD water view. We got the view, it was great to sit on the balcony and watch boats go by as we ate breakfast or lunch during the week. I then headed to the grocery store and picked up some provisions to keep in the room for our stay. We decided to keep unwinding and hung out by the pool for the rest of the day. It was a perfect Florida day, sunny and 75-80, and the poolside beverages were tasty. I stayed with the Amber Boch, my wife chose the frozen Strawberry Shortcake and was delighted. When the sun went down we went to the hottub for a bit then to the room to change and get ready for a KUNGALOOSH evening. We spent the night at the AC and had a great time. We make sure to do 1 or 2 nights there every trip that we can. The skits with improv comedy is something we can't get enough of. Eventually we called it a night and strolled back to our room, which is a great benefit of SSR if you like PI. We wanted to get some rest for our next adventure, Hoop Dee Doo and MK on X-mas Day. We love it, I'll write the next installment soon.

Is there a grocery store at SSR? And, could you have had your luggage transferred over to SSR?

There is a small marketplace/store in the Artist's Pallete that has the bare essentials, but the grocery store was not too far away. I think it was a Winn Dixie. You just take a right out of SSR, and then when you get to the road where a right would take you to DTD, take a left. At the first light take a left and the grocery store is about a mile down on the right. We could have had our luggage transferred over, but they just try and get it there by 4pm, which would have been fine, but we wanted to go over and get settled in there before we set out for the day. I said it earlier, but I'll restate it, I enjoyed both resorts, but until I unpacked at the second one, I didn't quite feel like I was fully on vacation and at "home". So we opted to take our own bags over in a taxi and take our chances at checking in, if the room hadn't been ready we just would've checked the bags with bell services.

sounds so nice and quiet.....i could veg for a while at the pool and hottub and be very very happy.......thanks for posting
