Your tree sounds fabulous Steven and Daniel! Ornament turner? I'm thinking that is something that uses electricity to make a given ornament revolve? Clearly not sure on that, but it sounds great!

A nine foot tree. That is massive. Who puts the topper on!? ...

Ornament turners were popular about ten years ago but can be difficult to find now. Here's a link to one...

Each one has a 6 inch cord with a plug that plugs into a mini-light socket. So you remove one bulb from your Christmas tree lights and plug the turner in. It's a great way to show off special ornaments.

We have to use a step ladder to decorate the top of the tree.

WOW We don't have a theme either, but our house usually looks like someonbe threw up Christmas!!! We downgraeded from a large 7 1/2 foot artificial tree to a slim 7 foot tree this year. Didn't feel like moving furniture. All white lights and lots of Christopher radko ornamants. We have some hollyberry garland (not Judy) on the mantel, some other little things around. We didn't out out 1/4 of what we have I put up lights outside on the bushes ( multi color outside). We didnt put up the icicle lights this year. Geez I sound like scruge!

We have had holiday parties for the past 5 years, some there were 40 people in the house Last year we had a much smaller one. Probably not having one this year. Just too busy with work! We may have friends over for dinner, but that's about it!

The first Christmas I lived alone I purchased a wall hanging with a picture of a Christmas tree and used it for years. My DW just shakes her head at me and says that I don't get a say because I'm so hopeless.

we did aqua, teal, copper ornaments with matching feathers. very pretty. cannot wait to see disney trees.

Me, I have only tackled a third to half of the outside. The walk to the front of the house is Candy Cane Lane, as to an overall theme there isn't one.... Both sides of the walk are lined with 3' tall lighted candy canes. The bush to the left of the steps is (and all the bushes to the right will be) done in multi colored lights. The back of the lawn is (or will be) lined with twinkling snowflakes. I have a 6' inflatable Tigger and Pooh in the middle of the large side of the lawn, and a 4' Tigger will go in the small side. The railings up to the porch and the entryway, will be done in either a amber or a red (more like purple) lights. UNLESS I go shopping and buy MORE lights to match the multi colored on the bushes. I got a hour in today before I got too cold and it got dark.

As to the inside, not a clue yet.

Padalyn does a large dickens type village, something like 40 buildings this year, with a wharf. We'll set that up on Saturday.

Oh, we also do candle's in teh windowa... I also have a large Dept 56 village but didn't put that out this year either... I also have a few Disney Dept 56 buldings. Maybe I'll put those out..

Donald, really, did you decorate in Louisburg Square.. you have to love it there where the Boston Brahmin live including the illustrious Senator Kerry and Teresa Heinz....I have a picture framed on my family room wall of Louisburg Square and have a fond memory as a child of my Dad, Boston cop, taking us to see the Christmas lights in Boston Common and then driving up the hill and showing us Louisburg Square and saying that is where the rich people live in Boston... that was many years ago.

I am thinking florist shops, Box on Beacon Hill and Rouvalis..of course Winston's is around, but when you say high end, Beacon Hill, I think of these two.

The holiday theme at our house is DISNEY!! Actually it's Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, w/ a touch of Stitch and some of the other characters. I've been collecting Disney stuff for years, but this is the 1st year that we have enough room to actually put all of it up (thanks to our new house). I'm so excited!!

Of course it's nothing compared to Donald's, but we think it's Tiggeriffic!

Donald, really, did you decorate in Louisburg Square..

I worked at Victorian Bouquet on Charles Street. It was open until about 10 years ago when the owner passed away. I decorated a couple of houses on the hill, but the biggest one was in Louisburg Square. I don't remember the name of the owner of the house, but he used to be an owner of the Celtics (Don Gaston? Not sure...). Anyway, I was decorating the living room one year and I said to the housekeeper "How sad that they don't even take the time to decorate their own house for the holidays". She said "Donald, they own 5 houses, I am sure they decorate one of them."
