Someone had to post first I guess. So what do we think of the Kerr family's attitude to the "manufactured entertainment" and "commercialised plasticky rides"?

Yes, I agree, but on the other hand I don't think the Jones family behaved much better. I mean, you go to the World and then make everyone stay in bed til 11am.

I found it all a little surreal, with the Jones familys punishments, and whats with lying in bed until 11.00 during the busiest time of the year. It didn't give much of a portrayal of the good food available forcing everyone to eat hotdogs.
If he had clicked his fingers at me for a cup of tea like he did at the start I'd break them.

I do think the Jone's language let them down, and unfortunately this will 'taint' the 'image' of who goes to Disney/Florida!

I agree with the last post, about staying in bed til 11am! Anyone who really knows Disney, will make the effort to be there at 'rope drop!'

Its a shame the programme makers try and stereotype certain destinations!

I think it was all just for TV, not much reality involved. Probably got on with each other off camera. I know people that have been involved with TV productions and they have to spice things up or no-one would watch them.
1st TV I have watched since Life on Mars, that was more realistic and true to life that this. At least its reminded me why I dont watch TV.

I thought they made orlando look cheap and nasty, rubbish food, queues, crowds I thought the villa looked crowded too. Not the orlando we loveposh food, lovely people, good rides with little waits, special moments. They even made AK look a bit cheap and thats our favourite for the greenery , wildlife etc. Who goes all that way and then doesnt get up till 11 everyday?

LOL You have not been at Xmas then? This was about the only true to life part of it. Popular rides at this time of year are 2hours+ especially if you stay in bed until 11am You have to be in at opening to get the major rides done before the crowds build up.
Definitely not such a thing as little waits at the time of year they visited.

I think the Jones' came across as being very petty and I don't think it was a good example of what a typical Disney holiday is like for anyone who has done even 10 minutes of research, I struggle to believe they have been before!

I agree with Wayne as well that the producers probably played a big part in sowing the seeds of discontent where they could.

They didn't holiday like us DIS'ers no special dinners or character meals etc and what's with the 11am lie ins? I've done half a day by then when I'm in WDW. Let's face it if you want to lie in you can stay at home and save yourself a few grand

My only concern was the weight of their matching Bling and whether it would get caught in the jacuzzi filter !!!

Unfortunatley these programmes are not about the holiday destinations but about the people.
If the families got on with each other and liked where they were staying there wouldn't be a confrontational type of show which the producers are obviously after.
Maybe it's made by the same crew who do Big Brother - find some plonkers stick them on camera and call it TV.....a big turn off personally.

Ths sad side is there are those who will watch and figure Florida isn't all it's cracked up to be, if only they knew........

The Jones' were the worst representation of UK visitors to WDW, on the other hand I felt they dealt with the Kerr's holiday quite well, apart from Mrs and the little girl not doing the paragliding due to being afraid of heights they indulged that control freak twit in everything he wanted to do [for himself] whereas he was far more reluctant on their holiday.
In the end Mr Kerr used his children as a reason to not be confronted by the truth (even if it was badly put) from Mr Jones, when on neither of the holidays did he take into account his wife and his children and what they wanted to get from the experience. How silly she has been to encourage his every indulgence I thought she would enjoy WDW more as the look on her face when they found out where they were going was priceless, perhaps the jet lag affected her, don't forget they were only there for a week and if you're not used to long haul travel she would have only just started adjusting as they were leaving!

I was disappointed I didn't get to see more of WDW and less of the tacky Jones' and the annoying Kerr's

It made me realise one thing, I will never go to WDW at christmas, it was too busy for me. Our last day this year was Mothers day saturday and I thought the MK was busy but it was nothing compared to what I saw last night on TV.

As for getting up at 11am, that was probably pushed to the limit for programming purposes but if that's their idea of a holiday then so be it, we're all WDW nuts who want to see as much as possible, they're probably happy to do half a park a day. If they work hard all year round (?) and that's what they want from their two weeks then thats up to them.

I have to say that the Kerr's holiday looked quite enjoyable too, I like extreme experiences and although Mr Kerr tried to pack in too much, with a little less to do and better accomodation I thought it could quite enjoyable.
