Holiday Season

Well I don't know what MVMCP is but here's what I know they do:

A special christmas show at the castle, where is snows and the castle lights up. They play the holiday fireworks. There is the holiday parade, christmas decorations, holiday tour. There is Santa Roundup where the kids can meet santa and get their picture taken. In DCA they usually have the Santa's beach blast where they play christmas music beach boy style. That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure someone else can help you out with MVMCP.

At Disney World they have Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It is a ticketed event like Mickey's not so scary Halloween party.

There is no separate ticketed event at DLR for a Christmas Party. They do have the CP like WDW, but it's only one weekend.

They run the Christmas Parade and holiday fireworks from around Thanksgiving through New Years. It will even snow on Main Street. Besides all of the decorations, there will be carolers on Main Street and cookie decorating at Santa's Round Up where you can get your photo taken with Santa and see real reindeer. You can also see Santa Goofy's in Toontown.

Also, the tree on Main Street in DL is real. The one at WDW is not.

Two things that WDW does not have is the Nigthmare Before Christmas layover at the Haunted Mansion and the holiday layover in It's A Small World, which should be back open at the end of November.

Christmas is even more magical at DL.

Wendy, there's a pretty strong rumor over at MC that the DL tree this year will be fake! :scared1: They have CM's on there saying it's true and they are doing it for environmental reasons!! :sad2:

That is sad to hear. :sad1: I would be sorry to not see a real tree at DL. :sad2:

I just read on Mouse Planet that yes, indeed, this year's Christmas tree will be artificial. Hopefully it's just temporary and they will bring a real tree back eventually.

I love the holidays at DLR. :santa: I've also been to MVMCP at WDW. There are a couple of main differences-

At DLR you'll get the parade, holiday fireworks, and snow without paying extra from Thanksgiving holiday to New Years.
You can visit with Santa at both DL and DCA.
There are reindeer to see at DL.
Small World is decorated for holidays (reopening Nov. 29))
If you want a Christmas cookie, then you'll have to pay for it (I'm assuming you still get free cookies and hot choc. at MVMCP).
So, all in all, considering the extra cost for MVMCP, DLR wins, hands down. :goodvibes

and last year the castle at DLR was even more beautiful with extra lights, etc.

its probley cheaper to have a fake tree to but im sad to see the real tree go.

Not this year
