There must be something wrong with me. I enjoy shopping at Christmas. I love the crowds, I don't mind standing in line. I am thrilled that I can afford to buy gifts for the people I love-there have been years I really couldn't afford much at all, and I was grateful for what I could spend. I love finding the perfect gift for a price I can afford. I tend to sing Christmas Carols, talk, laugh, and generally try to get everyone around me into the same joyous feeling I have.
I also worked retail for a number of years. I am the customer who gets to the counter smiling and tells the clerk Merry Christmas! Take a breath, it's Christmas, don't let the grinches get to you, you are helping make Christmas happen for all their families.
I am looking forward to the day that DD8 turns 12 and can be left home alone between the time she gets home from School and her Dad gets home from work so that I can go get a Christmas job

The extra money will be wonderful, and there is nothing that makes me happier than being in the middle of all the hustle and bustle and sounds of Christmas.
To all of you who work retail at this time of year, thank you. You put up with headaches, grumps, grinches, and spoiled brats in order to make peoples holiday dreams come true, and you do it with a smile on your face-You are wonderful, and appreciated!
