Glad my package made it's way to you from the Great White North! "Icing" sugar is indeed powdered sugar - and those lemon squares are my absolute favourite!

Okay...I'm getting a little worried. I sent my package via UPS and according to their website it was delivered on Saturday, October 22nd. But no info from the recepient...

I got an answer today. She did get the package. She is having computer issues and will try to post later today or this evening.

I had several packages waiting for me when I got home from work last night. It's so much fun unwrapping :goodvibes

From Beth (MinnieM3), I received the following:

maroon towel with a turkey on it (I hung this in my bathroom)
a box of sparkly fruit
and a yellow bowl for the sparkly fruit---it's already displayed in my kitchen

Now.....to the recipes (and her comment):

Cheese straws----an old Charleston recipe
Mint strips---which she makes every Christmas
Norma Jean's #1 Ham biscuits---a bit of a twist on an old favorite)
24 hour ambrosia salad---I'll never hear the end of it if I didn't make this!!
Italian bacon-wrapped mushrooms--easy and so yummy!
Chocolate bourbon pecan pie---the ONLY thing my brother admits I do well

I'm going to definitely try the last one as my DSIL loves pecan pie and the salad sounds really good and easy to make.

Thanks, Beth for all the gifts and recipes; I look forward to trying them.

Cindy :earseek:

:bounce: Only 11 to go and still not to week since mail by.

We have a couple that have been enroute for 8-9 days. If yours is one of those and you have DC, please check on it. :)

Package #2 from Jen (Jbdreamer)...and it's her first exchange...or rather first two exchanges as she got my name for both the Halloween candy and the recipe exchanges. So, I had a rather large box on my front porch last night. It was so much fun going through it all.

Jen sent me the following recipes:
--Cheesy potatoes----potatoes are my favorite food along with cheese!!
--Chocolate mint sticks
--Peanut butter bon bons---my mom used to make regular bon bons every holiday when I was a kid....maybe I should try to do it this season.
--Hard candy
--Broken glass jello salad
--Cookie Grandma's sugar cookies

She also sent a red and green Christmas basket full of goodies to assist in the recipes' preparation: four boxes of jello for the salad, orange and green food coloring for the candy, and cookie cutters (holly, Santa & tree) and candy sprinkles for the cookies.

Thanks, Jen for sharing your family recipes and getting me some of the ingredients.  Cindy

These are my favorite cookies!

**Sundried Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookies**

3/4 cup butter flavored Crisco OR butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cup rolled oats
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup walnut pieces

Combine shortening/butter with sugars in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with mixer until well blended. Beat in eggs & vanilla until well blended. Combine flour, baking soda, & salt. Stir into creamed mixture; mix well. Add oats, cranberries, & walnuts. Spray cookie sheet with no-stick spray & dust with flour. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 2" apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes or until firm and golden brown. Cool on cookie sheets 4 minutes; transfer to cooling rack.

Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

Glad you enjoyed everything. However that's not a Santa cookie cutter I sent. It's a pumpkin! :rotfl2: That's what the orange food coloring is for. :earboy2:

And again your welcome. This was my first exchange, and it was a lot of fun!
