My wife and I typically visit Disneyland once a year right after school ends (early summer). Well we got some free tickets from some family members so we decided to go for 2 days the week of December 12th, during my sabbatical.

I am a huge planner and obviously did not book a hotel in advance to save money. So we will be using hotel points to stay for free. However, this hotel is a long walk away from the park. We typically stay across Harbor Blvd so the walk is typically 3-5 minutes. As I have a lot of foot problems and typically end up in a wheelchair while my wife pushes me I am looking to avoid walking. So I want to know about ART. How often do the shuttles arrive? If the park opens at 10am do the shuttles come early like 9am? If anyone has a link for this info I would really appreciate it.

Also, how are the crowd level's around that time of the year? As Arizona gets out of school earlier than most states we should be in the park while everyone is still in school.

What are some of the best things to see during the Christmas season? Finally, do you typically go around the park with a light jacket?

Thanks for your help.

If you go to the ART site you can find the schedule for your route, it varies based on which route you're on. If the hotel is otherwise within walking distance you might consider renting an ECV for an outside vendor so you can use that to and from your hotel.

Crowds are usually high in Dec because the holidays are popular. The weeks before Christmas aren't typically as bad as the week after, but with this being the first year when almost all former premium APs will now have had to switch to either signature plus or something lower, we don't know if people will go a week earlier before the block outs start.

The weather can range from 80 degrees to below 50 degrees. There can easily be a 30 degree difference in a single day. You have to decide at what point you will want something more than a light jacket and plan accordingly.

Thank you for your reply! I was not aware their website had that much info!

We are used to high crowds as we go during the summer, I am just interested to see if it's worse or better.

I wouldn't say it is worse. Temps vary a LOT. I can usually stay in a sweatshirt in the evening without a problem. But I have been there in shorts weather in Dec. Layers are your friend there.

Layers are key in December. We have been on 80* days and 50* days; its anyones guess. Nights can get quite chilly once the sun goes down.

I am not a fan of ART and avoid it at all cost. We drive and pay if ART is the only option. You can Uber too.

I appreciate the replies! It seems we will watch the weather as the time comes closer and most likely carry light jackets with us.

I also really like the idea of Uber and may use instead of ART.
