what are the dates for holiday pricing at the restaurants? I am making ADR's tomorrow, and some places we want to eat may have holiday pricing. Since we decided to stay off site this trip, I have to budget my food money. Man, I will miss the DP!

Disney has not officially announced it yet, but when CM and I were pricing out meals on the phone yesterday, we discovered that there is definitely a holiday surcharge for 2010 for July for sure - specifically priced out July 6th @ Garden Grill (all you care to eat) and the price was $4.26 higher. $4.00 per adult plus tax.

I started a thread yesterday to alert people to this, but not one person replied. I thought more people would be interested as Disney is late, as usual with alerting guests to the actual dates, but if you call dining and give some dates for Chef Mickeys, Garden Grill, etc., you can price compare to the regular price and figure it out that way. That is exactly what I did!

HTH, Tiger :)

is showing different prices for some dates for the regular dining plan. The dates are similar, but longer in some cases, to previous holiday surcharge periods. I'm using that as a guidance on the surcharge dates.

2/12/10 - 4/10/10
6/04/10 - 8/14/10
12/17/10 - 12/31/10

We are there from 7/31-8/8 this year...earliest summer trip to date. I am not so thrilled with the 'holiday' pricing for meals. I had my ADR list all ready to call in next week. With the holiday pricing in effect, there will be some changes made to it. I just can't justify paying more simply because I am there during the mid-summer.

fall in those ranges too. I guess that we will scale back our TS meals. Since my kids are teens, they eat like adults. that makes it hard to justify the cost of a TS meal.. for us. It is hard to swallow some of their pricing on meals, and even harder when they increase the cost. We have a limit. And Disney has just gone beyond it. That is why we are staying offsite. Even with the GC deal or the room only deal, Disney has outpriced us for this trip.

It's not for all meals - it's for buffets, all you can eat family style restaurants, and fixed price, fixed menu restaurants only. I know it's not possible for everyone to skip those types of restaurants, but you can avoid the surcharge in "peak" periods by doing just that - or by hitting restaurants not owned by Disney, like Garden Grove at the Swan. Doesn't mean other types of restaurants don't "unofficially" raise some of their prices too.
