Holiday party at work..what to wear

OK...I bought a greenish sort of cocktail dress. It goes below my knees to wear to my holiday party at work. The party is being held in New York City so people come very dressy to holiday festive. My question is I saw pictures from last years party ( I didnt work there at the time) and a lot of the girls did not wear panty hose. They wore long and short dresses and a nice sandel looking heels. I don't know whether to wear panty hose with my dress or not.
Does any one have any suggestions or what would you wear?

I wouldn't wear hose, even if it's cold. But that's just me.

How about tight-knit fishnets? They are a smaller netting, so they are dressier than regular fishnets. Possibly black with black shoes, but I can't tell for sure without seeing the color of your dress.

I would say no hose probably...and then put a nice shimmery lotion on your legs...sexy!
