Holiday Inn replacing Courtyard DTD?

I was just checking out Entertainment Rates at the Holiday Inn website. I noticed a Holiday Inn on 1805 Hotel Plaza Blvd. That is the same address as the Courtyard DTD. There is no picture to the hotel, nor is there any information with regards to restaurants, or ammenities. I also wasn't able to get availability using various dates. Does anyone know anything more?

That property will be a Holiday Inn as of Jan. 31, 2004. I called Holiday Inn to verify that. They are taking reservations beginning 1/31/04.

That stinks! My brother works for Marriott and he was able to get us really good deals at that hotel. It was great for a quick budget trip to Disney. I wonder why Marriott decided to sell.

There is another CY about a mile away. It is very nice.

True - just across I-4 there is a Marriott Village with a Courtyard, a Residence Inn and a Springhill Suites.

Being an ex marriott employee it was my understanding that the Courtyard in DTD was a franchise. It had a Marriott flag, however another company owns and manages the property.

Marriott holds a very high standards for their franchise properties. They are 'blind' inspected to insure that they keep up with renovations and service standards. From reading the RADP it sounds like they lost their Marriott flag over not passing their annual inspection.

Personally I am not surprised. I was shocked how beat up that property was when I walked through it, I thought it was only a matter of time.
