Holiday Inn Maingate East - Single Parent Deal

I'd basically decided to always stay on site for convenience - but then I noticed that the Holiday Inn Maingate East is offering a deal for single parents. It would save me money, and the fact that a resort is *finally* making an effort to accommodate (or at least attract!) single parents impresses me. However, I've never stayed off site - is the quality and location good enough for me to consider this deal?

I would check tripadvsior.com for hotel reviews on the hotel. what I can tell from the board this the Hoilday Inn is not very good. I think most offsite transportation is not up to par. I would rent a car to drive to the parks. Do a search on this hotel on the board it will give all the information that need to a good decsion.

I stayed here in 1999 and if it hasn't been renovated it might look pretty worn. The room was clean but was very worn, shower stall, furniture, carpet, etc. We didn't use the pool or restaurant or anything else we just stayed 1 night before going to the Dolphin.

Not sure when you are going but you may want to consider www.hifamilysuites.com They have rates for as low as $76.00 a night for their kidsuites. A much nicer hotel IMO.

I'd stay on-site at a value before I stayed at HI Maingate.

That's good enough for me! As I said above, I'm already somewhat biased toward staying onsite, anyway. That "other" world sometimes tempts me with good-looking offers, but it would have to top WDW in some way to make me actually try it.
