This holiday inn is near old town, i was curious if anyone has stayed here and how was this property, thanks

If your talking about Holiday Inn Maingate East, I have stayed there many years ago, 1996. It was O.K., clean enough, the pool wasn't anything great. I am surprised though at how run down the whole Old Town area has gotten. Made a quick trip through in October and I had to stop and pick up something at the store. I just kind of got the heebie jeebies. It never used to be like that. I was in a Walgreen parking lot and there was just garbage everywhere. And the clientel was just not desirable. If DH has not been with me I probably would have been too scared to get out of the car.

This hotel on the average gets average reviews from here. It if by far not your nicer Holiday Inn. However, from reports it's average, has great rates, and clean. Hopefully someone who has stayed recently can give more details.

I was there this summer. We spent one night there before checking in to the ASmo. We arrived late at night and left early in the morning so I didn't see much of the outside. I know my husband walked over to the IHOP (?) next door to get some food for us after we arrived. He walked over and back after midnight and didn't get mugged, so I guess the neighborhood isn't that bad!

We got the room for $35 and we both marveled at what a great deal we got. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed ASMo better obviously, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I was on a budget.

I'm actually considering it again for next summer, but I think I'm going to try to find a house or condo for slightly more money so I can get a kitchen.

As for the Old Town area we've stayed in the immediate area twice. They were awhile ago though- being 2002 and 2003. We found it to be handy to everything. We didn't find it shady or anything. There was a higher level of noise, but nothing bothersome.

We stayed there for 3 nights in January of 2002. For what you pay, it's a great deal. It was January, so the pool wasn't really a factor for us and we were at the parks all day and did not eat there so I can't really comment. It was clean enough and did not seem shady. It was however dark every minute that we were there except for the morning of check out! This is an ideal place if you want something cheap and don't plan to spend any time at the hotel. Our next trip the kids will be older (they were 2 and 5) and we plan to stay longer and spend 1 or 2 days resting at the hotel between parks. I would not stay there again for that type of trip.

I stayed there in 2004. It was OK, but I would not return. I personally prefer the LBV area to Kissimmee.
