Just received a call from HI where we were booked to stay for two nights 11/26 & 11/27 before heading to OKW. They are going to be closed until the end of the year due to renovations and storm damage. They said they were moving us to a Sheraton (off property) which we do not so we have made reservations at a higher rate on property because all the codes for this time are now expired. We did get a discount with AAA but still higher. Anyway, I thought I would give a heads up to anyone who is booked through the end of the year and hasn't heard about this yet. They said I could call back tomorrow and speak to a Manager about going some place else, but I didn't want to chance not getting a room on property so I booked because I am sure they are making the calls to many people.

I am sorry!!!

so where are you staying?

I love Pop Century - I think it is cute!!!

We're going to stay at Dixie Landings. We've never stayed there so I think it should be fun.

Stayed at Best Western across street from this Holiday Inn in mid October, they were still open but had red tape in front of the building indicating some work areas. Saw some shingles blown off building. Walked in the Holiday Inn day we left to use their office center computer and area behind lobby area had big time construction going on. Employee said this was not from storm damage but remodeling. I guess with exterior storm damage and remodeling just easier to close.

Just got a letter Saturday from HI DTD saying that they are now closed indefinitely till work is completed. They say that since they are already closed they have decided to continue by upgrading the whole hotel.

Our reservations were for January 2-7, 2005. They say that they have moved our reservation to Best Western Lake Buena Vista at DTD. I called there last night and they have no record of it and told me to call back on Monday and that maybe it will be in their system by then. I went onto the HI Website to check on my reservation with them and it is showing as having been cancelled on Tuesday, November 23, 2004. :earseek:

I will be calling Best Western again tomorrow and hope for the best. Anyone know anything about this hotel? I had a King room with view and a sofa bed at HI. I am wondering if I will get the same rate as I had with HI. The rooms at Best Western don't seem to have the sofa bed w/ the King room and the balcony rooms are more expensive than HI.

I have checked into some rooms on property since we will be getting AP's and I am considering just switching to POR. The only thing is that they have a 5 day cancellation policy on room only ressies and HI had 2 day. We will be leaving New Years Eve to drive down from PA and if we get a last minute snow we may have a problem and not know about it soon enough.

Just called Best Western and everything is all set for our dates. Got a confirmation # on the phone and asked for an e-mail confirmation to take with us. Whew!!!!!!!!

I was in panic mode till tonight when I got home from work and could call. :cloud9: :earboy2:
