punch... non alcoholic please. I am borrowing my mom's antique punch bowl set and would like to serve a wonderful punch with my Christmas eve appetizers. I have never served actual punch before like this so don't have any tried and true recipes.

Also accepting tips on how to make those beautiful fruited ice rings.

Please share your favorite punch recipe... thanks so much!

Sherbet punch is always popular. Put a half gallon of softened sherbet in the bottom of the punch bowl, then pour in a 2-liter bottle of Sprite or Ginger Ale and stir. Use Lime, Orange, Rainbow or whatever flavor sherbet you like. I like to leave a few scoops of unmelted sherbet floating on top for looks, but I'm sure you could also do an ice ring.

Can't really help with the punch. I ususally throw whatever light flavored sodas and juices we have together with some sherbert.

I fill the bottom of my bundt pan with water and frozen fruit and pop into the freezer. I've also done individual ice fruit with ice trays and fruit and water. If it was all adults or a way to regulate the ice, you can even make it with alcohol and fruit.

Our favorite punch is one part white grape juice to one part ginger ale. Simple but tasty and not too sweet. I usually make an ice ring with flowers to go in the punch.

You can use a budnt pan or a jello ring mold for the ice ring if you don't have an actual ice ring mold. My mom puts sliced fruit in the bottom and then adds water or juice to cover and freezes it.

You could also use an ice cube tray and put one piece of fruit in each holder. A sprig of mint would be pretty and tasty, but not sure how it would freeze.

As for punch, we just use Hawaiian Punch and soda. Either a lemon-lime or ginger ale, whatever you prefer. Sometimes we add the sherbet instead of an ice ring as a PP said. Or do both! Just make sure if there is fruit in the ice ring it won't "clash" with the sherbet.

My only other punch recipes are boozy. I still recall "Jungle Juice" from our younger days. Some hawaiian punch/kool-aid, ice and whatever booze people brought all thrown in a big Thermos water cooler. What a mix of booze you'd get sometimes! :crazy2:

I hear ya but we got several under agers.... can always add for the adults.

:thumbsup2

I make two bowls of punch, one with/one without. The grown up one is more of a pinkish red. I kids one is bright red, this way we can tell who's drinking what.

You can pretty much take any punch recipe you find online (or elsewhere) and just leave the alcohol out.. If it requires more liquid, use soda, seltzer water, or juice..

I had a really good Pina Colada one (can't lay my hands on it right now), but I don't serve alcohol in my home (left the booze out) and it tasted every bit as yummy..:goodvibes

1 large can frozen orange juice
1 small or large can frozen lemonade (the orange juice and lemonade are the frozen concentrates that you would normally get to mix with water)

1 can pineapple juice
2 liter Sprite

Orange sherbet

Mix together and add scoops of orange sherbet.

I do equal parts cranberry juice, cran-raspberry juice and gingerale. Then I make an ice ring using cran-raspberry juice and frozen raspberries in a bundt pan. I always get rave reviews on it and one of my friends used it at a baby shower recently and everyone loved it. It's also easy to add raspberry or cranberry vodka to it if you want to make it "grown up"

Here are some recipes I've had for years. :goodvibes

I like to make my ice rings from the punch itself, or an ingredient in the punch, so it doesn't get watered down.

Christmas Punch (This is a very deep red festive punch)

6 pints chilled cranberry juice
3 12 oz cans lemonade concentrate
12 cups cold water
70 oz Sprite (add just prior to serving)

Mix everything together in your punch bowl.

Red Punch

1 small package unsweetened cherry Kool-aid
6 cups sugar
1 large can pineapple juice
enough water to make a gallon of punch, total.

(make punch in a gallon jug, and add the water last)

Strawberry Punch

2 packs strawberry Kool-aid
2 cans pineapple juice
1 quart gingerale
3 big cans of crushed pineapple

Make the Kool-aid according to package directions, add the other ingredients

Quick Inexpensive Punch

1 large can pineapple
1 package strawberry Kool-aid
2 cups boiling water
1 package frozen strawberries
1 cup lemon juice
3 cups sugar

Dissolve sugar in boiling water and let cool. Mix with all other ingredients except strawberries and chill. Add strawberries just prior to serving.

Pineapple Punch

1 16 oz can pineapple juice
1 cup lemon juice (fresh or reconstituted, but NOT concentrate)
1 cup sugar
1 pint cranberry juice
2 quarts gingerale

Chill all ingredients and then mix.

Make a huge batch of Lipton instant tea, add sliced oranges and lemons. Let it sit together to blend. Then when you're ready to serve pour it in your bowl and add in ginger ale about 50/50 but you can do it to taste. You can add crushed ice or float frozen stuff in the bowl, or even put it in pitchers and serve it served over ice (which is how we do it for the most part).

I don't drink tea and so I've never tried it but we use it at our work functions and every one loves it.

My moms punch recipe: put a package of rainbow or orange sherbet in the punch bowl. Add some maraschino cherries and sliced oranges. Pour in Hawaiian punch, orange juice and sprite, 7 up or Ginger ale. The measurements don't matter much..

This sounds gross but everyone loves it!

1/2 gallon French vanilla ice cream
1 large can pineapple juice
2 liters cream soda (sometimes I add 2- 2liter bottles)

I second this recipe....sometimes I will add grenadine syrup (marachino cherry juice) to it for a little color.

That actually sounds good. I've already figured out how to make the single-serving version!

Whatever you do though, make sure if you use sherbert that you put the sherbert in the punch bow and then pour the soda over it...fizzes up nice and makes a cloud of foamy bubbles.

I like the recipe. I really like the idea of adding the marachino cherry juice. I tried it over the weekend and added some coconut flakes to it and it was really good.

If you want some more cherry-based recipes you can get a free copy of a cherry recipe cookbook from Traverse Bay Farms. We stayed at the Beach Club Villas several weeks ago and ordered a gift basket for my husband's birthday and their products are in the Disney gift baskets.

I feel like Santa :santa:
