Holiday Flight Cost question (from Ohio)

Even though I am not in a hurry to book airfare yet, is it likely that holiday fares drop? I am hoping to to go Continental direct non stop Cleveland, airport is 10 min drive from where I live. Akron/Canton may be possible.

Continental (from CLE), holidays Dec - 10th arr MCO, 2 weeks, Sun-Sun

Return 12/21 - $250
Return 12/22 - $350
Return 12/23 - $450

Wow, I'm in big trouble if I want to come home on Sun - 12/24 !!! -- ??

We are visiting family after WDW. Should I consider re-arranging our schedule somewhat and try to come home on 12/21?

What would you do?

The Transportation board is great! I spend a lot of time here for all the great info!

Its possible they can drop. I would not expect a great sale for that time period however.

If you are really set on only one airline and/or one flight then you may need to adjust your schedule. If you are flexible you have a better shot at a deal. I actually think that the prices for your dates will probably go up as it gets closer and people start booking. That entire weekend will probably be pretty expensive.

Thanks - may need to keep the option of the Akron/Canton airport open! checked today and fares are much lower at that airport than Cleveland. Will wait and see!

We've flown out of Cleveland and Akron. I like Akron/Canton airport even though it is a farther drive. The parking is cheaper and the airport is smaller. We flew Air Tran and had no problems at all!!!

Recently we flew Southwest out of Cleveland. They don't have any nonstops but we did a 1 stop where we were on the ground in Baltimore only 25 mins. We had a DING fare.
