Hey there! I'm currently participating in a contest on my floor. The contest is to see which door is decorated the best for the holidays. Currently, we have the door wrapped in wrapping paper, a small tree in the right hand corner (decorated) a gingerbread man with my name on it, and a snowman with my roommates name on it, as well as some snowflakes. Any additional ideas to decorate? We're at a loss, and we really wanna show some holiday spirit (as well as maybe destress during finals week)!

Any help would be appreciated!

well, it depends how elaborate you want to get. I would start with small wrapped packages taped so they are under your tree, 3D is the way to go. I have taken one of those wreath door hangers, sort of an L shaped bracket that hangs over your door to hang a wreath on, but from it tied the top of a very small christmas tree, about 18 inches tall. Folded the backside branches up flat so it lays on the door with the front fluffed out. Decorate the tree, and for good measure you can buy the little tree with battery lights and just hide the battery pack in the branches. I have even seen someone take a shoebox, poke small holes in the bottom, fill with glitter and mount to the top of the door. Whenever someone knocked on the door, it snowed.

Good luck

I LOVE this!
If I still lived in a dorm and not an apartment I would totally do that!

If you're sticking with the Christmas theme then add Santa, his sleigh and reindeer. You could also try adding a plate of partially eaten cookies next to a glass of milk. The milk and cookies could be drawn or glued on after being cut out of felt pieces that are then marked on and sprinkled with glitter. Angels and stars are also Christmas icons. If you're doing a general holidays door then you should add other holiday icons i.e. a menorah and a dreidel.
