Holiday Cards, Who is making them?

I am doing two. One is computer generated with my daughter's pic. That is for the family and friends that haven't seen her in awhile. I would do them by hand but there are too many. What I will do is put grommets on the top and bottom and thread with some coordinating yarns and a few beads. Today I am going out and looking for the right paper for the cards. Of course this looks better in real life as I have it 4 color CMYK with a 300 dpi resolution as opposed to the 72 RBG Web shot. I call this year's card 'Turtle Doves?'.

I am also hand crafting a few dozen cards that are stamped and embossed. I am looking for the Days of Christmas series from Stampinton. Locally we have a pretty good stamp store right near UCONN, I am hoping they still have the ones I need. They have thousands of stamps, and a great selection of supplies. I'll scan one in when I am done.

Finished mine today. All I need to do is write personal messages. This year I had to take the easy way out but still insist it have a pictures and homade look. I did a Christmas scrapebook lay out with Mrs.Grossman photo stickers of presents and added some pictures of the many things we did this year. The biggest pictures was the family pic at Disney. Then I had them colored copied and added the same stickers to colored envelopes. They look very sweet everyone at Office Depot ohhed and ahhed over them.

Now i just have to wait till December 1st to mail them out. My friends make fun of me if I mail them out to early. But I try to get everything done by then so I can relax enjoy my daughers b day on the 8th, and still have time to do all the fun holiday things instead of stand in line at the mall.

I am going to make a handful of cards using some scrapbook supplies.

I ended up making four cards for Halloween, and everyone was impressed. I've discovered the trick is to think of a good design and then "mass produce" them. I have some ideas for my holiday cards and have been stockpiling supplies all summer. I hope I'll be able to get some done.

Here she be, this is a scan so it really doesn't look as good as real life. I used a textured ridged heavy weight card stock paper. The inside greeting is also done.100 grommets later (50 cards) and I am still threading the ribbon and beads. I'm happy.

McNuss, please do. I saw your baby cards and they were great. I am waiting for a stamp from Stampington to do my cards for friends that really don't need a pic of my daughter on the cover. Hopefuly it will be here soon so I can start on it.

I have a questio about the grommets/eyelets you use. I am knew to this and was wondering if you bought a packet that had a pliers to apply them, or do you do it by hand. I was thinking of trying cards this year and like how you used the string/ribbon! Thanks in advance.

First you punch a hole with a paper puncher, which is not a hole punch, but a tool that has a plastic end that you bang with a hammer. The puncher is the one with the black head:

then you stick in your grommet and use your grommeting tool and bang it with your hammer a few times until it splays:

Dritz makes pliers that set eyelets, but the head is to big, thus you cannot set small grommets.
At least that is how I do it.
