Hi,
Just wanted to echo what others have said and let you know I am sorry to hear the sad circumstances surrounding cancelling your holiday.
Also I can sympathise with your fear of flying as I too am terrified. I also get prescribed vallium but it does little to control my fear. However I find that when I have flown with my children (only once with them to Spain) I did not want them to see me scared and thus worry themselves so I found that I had to appear calm on the outside at least and it actually helped me to keep myself under control. I understand the worry of flying yourself with your daughter but I suppose I would try to see it as a challenge and not want the fear to stop me and the children having my holiday. Trust me I know how hard it would be but I am sure you would make it. I worry about everything to do with flying, even where I sit on the plane, but I try to keep rational thoughts going for example tell myself that it doesn't matter where I sit, I am no more or less safe etc. I registered with a fear of flying website and even repeating facts to myself helps a bit!! Such as you are more likely to be killed by a donkey than on a plane and I don't tend to worry about a donkey getting me so why would I worry about flying!!
Just wish you all the best and really hope it works out for you.
