Holiday booked for October but I'm now pregnant...oops :) Some advice please*UPDATED*

Just a quick update for all those kind peeps that offered me advice :lovestruc
I have just phoned Virgin Holidays (on their UK number) and spoke to a very lovely lady. They let me move my holiday to October 2011 with no problems. I got to keep my £1000 Tesco's clubcard vouchers as well as my deposit and Free Disney Dining so I'm very happy and relieved. They charged me £35 admin fee for each person which they wanted me to pay today but when I explained that I didn't get paid until next week they said it was ok to make the changes today as long as I rang back next week to pay the admin fee, I thought that this was really good of them.
They added the infant and asked me to phone back when he is born with his name and date of birth.
All in all I am VERY happy with the service I've received from Virgin, the only negative is that the same holiday is £700 more expensive in 2011 that it was in 2010! Bit annoying but I'm just glad that it's all sorted and booked,
Thanks again everyone

great news an congratulations on finding out your having a boy x

Well done to Virgin, just a shame the price has gone up.

Congrats on your little boy.

So glad you have it all sorted and now you can sit back and get planning for next year :) The increase is a bit on a stinger but at least now you have the peace of mind that it is all sorted :thumbsup2

Congratulations on the news that you are having a baby boy X He will be costing you a lot more than £700 in the future :lmao:

We took a 10 month old with us last year (you don't need to sterilise bottles from 6 months anyway) it was great. She was eating a lot of stuff we were eating by then anyway. Personally I would take the baby under 1 year as you can have a skycot - that was FAB! Now as for this year hmmmm....20 month old on transatlantic flight no sky cot...what WERE we thinking.....MICKEY'S HOUSE of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. I asked about a skycot but they said it was only for babies under 12 months, baby will be 13 months when we fly, typical!
There will be three of us to take turns with bubba so it should be fine, I can't wait! I can get my planning started again now :cool1:
My daughter is very happy that it has been officially rearranged :goodvibes
Thanks again xxx

Hi, Congratulations on finding out you are having a boy, and for getting everything sorted.

I haven't flown with an infant on Virgin, but I assume they would offer something similar to BA - if you haven't paid separately for an infant seat, you can still ask for the bassinet seats - these are the front seats in each cabin, and they have a fold down bassinet on the panel in front. They have skycots for infants less than 12 months (although I doubt many 12 month olds would fit in them!), but for under 2's, they have a car seat that sits on the bassinet and is held in place by straps.

You have to take the child out every time the seat belt sign comes on, but this is the same for the skycots anyway. It is at least somewhere to put the little one if they sleep or whilst you are eating, plus you have some extra leg room for all the extra gumph you will be carrying. Call Virgin because I am sure you have to book bassinet seats in adavance (although there isn't a charge for them).

congratulations this happened me to me TWICE! in two year lol
which is why we have two wdw holidays this year lol, went on one in march and have the other in october
