Best Transportation Options for Getting Around Disney?

That is if you’re with a Disney resort. Most Non-Disney resort hotel guests pay up in that instance.
Yes that is correct but based on what was provided by the OP I’m assuming they are onsite with mentioning the various options and then mentioning outside of Disney.

parks. Others feel more comfortable renting a car for extra flexibility, especially if they want to head outside Disney for shopping or dining.

You also forgot that you have minimum $45 in parking that you can avoid just by not renting a car and using Disney Transport.
Being local I never stayed at the Disney resorts but as I don’t pay the parking fee, is $45 really the current daily parking fee?

Only if preferred. Standard is a bargain at $30 lol.

AP and resort guests still can park for free or upgrade to the preferred section

I’ve taken 3 trips this year with another coming up for the Food and Wine half marathon in October . I’ve rented a car each of these trips and am planning on renting one again. However, I try not to use it when I get my DVC property and rely on Disney’s transportation. While I don’t mind driving I certainly enjoy someone else driving more. We do the rental car because we need it on Sundays when we go to church. We’ve relied on Lyft before but it’s not ideal all the time. One year we kept getting canceled on by our drivers and we waited over an hour to get picked up. That year we tried a different church. Normally we stick with Corpus Christi. That time waiting around was annoying. That’s prime park time. Couple that with a round trip Lyft XL to MCO then it doesn’t always look to bad price wise if we’re only there a few nights or so. When we did the Springtime Surprise in April we drove to the expo to get our bibs, and then back the next day to exchange some shoes we bought. Then we went straight to AK. I’m not sure how long that would’ve taken us if we had to solely reply on the buses. But I do draw the limit of how long I want a car for. We did an 8 night trip in July and I did get a car again but I only used it for 1 night and returned it to the car rental office that’s behind the Polynesian. My wife and son were down there for a volleyball tournament so I picked them up from their hotel and we all drove to VGF together and hit up a Publix along the way.

I am at Disney at least 4 trips a year, sometimes 5, usually for 4-5 night stays. I am 3 hours away by car so I always drive there and have my car with me. I have an AP and am DVC, so I can park free at any of the parks. But despite all that, I use Disney transportation about 99% of the time...and whenever possible, I try to use non-bus transportation whenever available just because I find it more interesting and relaxing - boats are a strong favorite, skyliner and monorail are both fun too. If busses are all that's available, they're fine also. I like the convenience of letting Disney get me there, I like that often the Disney transportation options can get you closer than self-parking can, and even traveling from resort to resort the wait for a bus, or transport to Disney Springs can be balanced out by not having to find a parking spot and walk in from far back in the lot.

The rare few times I'll use my car would be for a dinner res, or meeting people for entertainment that might run late, so as not to have to rely on a late bus to Disney Springs then another bus to my resort. To stay timely for a dinner res I might take my car - especially if I decided to valet at my home resort since I'm already paying the daily valet fee that's good for any other DVC valet location. I've often driven to see the Yehaa Bob later show since we sometimes hang afterwards and chat or get snacks, so being able to drive back from there is definitely convenient at nearly midnight.

But I'm definitely a big fan of sticking to Disney transportation - or walking if I'm staying near a park. I'll be at Boardwalk in 2 weeks so I'll have easy walkability to 2 parks and skyliner, walk, or boat to 8 other resorts. I'll have my car and likely will valet as I'm heading there with a friend who hasn't been to Disney in about 9 years - so we do plan on visiting Yehaa Bob, and will probably drive to AKL for Jiko dinner one night...those will be the only two times I foresee taking the car.

Definitely prefer to use Disney Transportation, but there are some instances where we routinely use rideshare. The waterparks come to mind - having to take one bus to Disney Springs, then another to waterpark can take a bit of time.

I'm old enough to not really understand the point of a bot posting a message on a forum - it's not getting your credit card numbers or forcing anyone to click to another site, it's not enflaming political tensions or racial tensions, etc - so what exactly is the bot's purpose? But I'm young enough to be very wary of bots, spam, and other frauds that are trying to get information or cause arguments or enflame tensions on hotpoint issues. Young people help me: What is the point of a bot in a message forum posting a generic question?

What is the point of a bot in a message forum posting a generic question?

You can see it for various reasons....

1) There's an industry of spammers who come to message boards like this and put links to various websites in their posts. New users can't post links until a certain number of posts and being a member for a certain length of time. That's why you sometimes see nonsense posts or replies for "filler" and eventually they'll start posting links or editing past posts to add links when able. These are clearly spammers and should be reported as such using the "Report" button if you see it.

2) Here on the Transportation Board you sometimes will get Orlando private drivers or car services who come here to post about their business. This is not allowed unless they are an approved advertiser on the boards, but people often don't read or follow the rules so may come here with that intent in mind.

3) There are sometimes legitimate users who use AI to help craft a post or communicate for various reasons. Could be a language barrier or something else. For this reason my default is usually to give people the benefit of the doubt/not assume bot, unless future posting makes #1 or #2 clear.

Hope that helps.
