Holiday Autos have 20% their car hire for Florida today. I've been quoted a good price but not sure whether to go with them as I've never used them before. I'm liking the fact that there's no cancellation fee if cancelled before 7days. Do you get your money back quickly if you need to cancel?
What are your experiences with Holiday Autos please?

Also, as Holiday Autos are brokers. Does anyone know who car hire would be with as it doesn't say on the quote?

I have promoted Holiday Autos deals on here for a few years, had great deals with them. Unfortunately they were bought out last year with CarTrawler, since then then prices have shot up and now they are only worth considering with around 20% off.

The 20% is not on all rentals and its not usually a full 20% off but good if the car you want is reduced.
I have been looking this morning and most prices I have found with discount only bring the price down to other companies, although they are giving 11% cashback on Quidco, this will make them cheaper but cashback is never guaranteed.

Yes you have upto 7 days to cancel but personally never tried. You should have no problem, terms are clear, after 7 days upto 48 hours of collection you have a 25 Euro fee. https://secure.holidayautos.com/book/terms-conditions.php?searchurl=holidayautos.co.uk

I am looking for 16 days in July, last night and it was £330, this morning £280 less 11% Quidco = £249. Compared to Alamo Brits at £326.

Definitely the cheapest quote I have had yet, not sure what to do, much prefer Hertz but July rentals are not in their sale.

Upto the CarTrawler buy out I would have said you would get an Alamo car, they always seemed to be given in these sales but posts I am reading this morning about the current sale suggest they are getting Dollar cars.

We are looking for a basic SUV for 17 days from April 28th. The cheapest I had found up to now was £350. Holiday Autos have it at £291. Can you find anything better Wayne?

£291 less 11% = £259

Seems to be best deal around, I do prefer to use Hertz where possible and would pay a small premium to use them over HA but £44 more is a bit much.

Hertz sale £337 less 10% = £303

Thanks Wayne for checking that for me. I've only ever used Alamo. Are dollar pretty similar?
I seem to be stalking you today Wayne! :rolleyes1

Yes just saw your other post:rotfl2:

Very similar, good and bad agents, good and bad cars. Its all down to what you get on the day.

I am with Dollar Express so bypass the desks, free to join, some have a problem linking a HA rental to their Express account, others don't but its free and a bonus if it works.

Thanks for all you help today. I'm going to show DH when he gets home and hopefully we will go ahead and book it tonight.

I'm looking at this now and have found a great price for a Ford Escape.

It's £250 before quidco so less than £225 for 2 weeks.

I'm about to book it but reading the excess it states that I have to pay the first £2500 if the car is stolen. That seems a lot! Is it same with other companies? I was previously considering Alamo Brits.

Have you read the rental conditions? HA should be zero excess for US reservations, the high excesses are usually for European rentals.

Just got a quote, clearly says:

Price includes: ZERO EXCESS

Then click on rental conditions it says:
Insurance Coverage
Collision damage waiver (CDW): (Includes Tax); Excess 0 USD

Thanks.

It came up under some extra insurance they were trying to sell.

I've booked it because it's £80 cheaper than Alamo Brits for my dates.

The booking confirmation confirms it's Dollar.

Extra insurance which is a general policy for rentals in all countries, not specific to US rentals. You will more than likely be offered similar again at the desk without the policy excess, Dollar try push their Roadsafe cover. http://www.dollar.com/TravelCenter/TravelTools/RoadSafe.aspx
Rented over 50 times in the US, never bought it, never needed it, complete waste IMO.
Locally it cost $5/day, not £5.79 HA try charging.

I keep getting "No vehicles available" which is more than a little strange 2nd-23rd August. I actually need MCO to Cape Canaveral but it won't even show me anything for MCO return either.

Can anyone else see anything for those dates?

No problem doing round trip MCO start and end. All cats showing eg SUV £359.51

Same with MCO to Cape Canaveral although prices look higher.

Quidco tracked already.

£225 for a Ford Escape (IFAR) or similar for 2 weeks is a bargain.

Thanks again.

Very strange, I'm on a 3g connection which frequently identifies itself as being in the netherlands (something to do with the way Three broadband works) I wonder if I'm being blocked.

I'll remote a home PC and try the same thing there.

Thanks for trying.
