Just to let you know. We originally had Thanksgiving ADR’s at Boatwrights for 7 people. We changed plans to 8 people (middle son decided to come). We tried to get an extra seat, but "no way" according to the CM we talked to. "Boatwrights is fully booked all day and evening" – so they said. We changed to Primetime at DHS for 1:30 pm, not bad, but not what we wanted. We changed our original plans – our bum luck. We could have kept the ADR's and stiffed some other family just keeping on our merry way to Primetime.

Since we are staying at POR I walked by Boatwrights at 3:00, 4:30, 6:00 and 9:00. It was no more than 1/2 full at any time and less at times. When I asked at the desk the CM said "several no-shows." The problem in my opinion was too many people with multiple ADR’s.

My suggestion is this for Holidays – credit card reservations with full charge if not cancelled within 72 hours. For those who don’t like it – TOUGH! Make one reservation and keep it or be charged for it. Am I ******? YES! And don’t give me that crap about “people won’t eat at WDW if they can’t make ADR’s.” I don’t buy it. Inconsistent and inconsiderate. The whole ADR system needs to be revised so there is less gaming the system.

Ok – I’m all set now! :thumbsup2

I totally agree...during holidays and very busy times, ADR's with cc guarantee would make a lot less no shows and alot more openings!!!

Did you try just showing up with your extra person? Usually-holiday or not- if you try to change your ADR, they give you a hard time about it and it can't always be done, but if you just show up it's hardly ever a problem.

Right on! We should have done that before going to PT. We laughed about it and were going to pop in for dessert, because we were to full to have some from dinner and by 8:00 we could have fit it in.

I agree, except I'd like to see them take a CC hold for all ADRs. WDW's ADR system has gotten out of control. It's ridiculous, & they need to do something about it.

I haven't experienced anything like this I guess I'm lucky. But maybe the upgrades to the system that they are doing now will help this situation.

I am at WDW now..T DAY week. The ADR thing is bad. My room is right over Chef Mickeys. Its never full, but before I left to come here I tried to get a ressie for Tue and they said it was booked all week (Im going tomorrow with 180 advance ADR)

There have been tables available at every restaurant Ive been to, but I still am waiting close to an hour everywhere I go. 50s PT and Le Cellier were the worst. I was 10 minutes late for the 8:15 CP because of Le Cellier. My ressie was at 5:35, and we were not seated until 6:30. We got out at 8:13 and that was with rushing through every course. Food was awesome, but then we had to RUN 1/2 way across the "world".....not fun on a full stomach.

It is too bad the Dis gods won't make this thread a sticky, so that every time someone posts on how they have 3 ADRs at the same time and it is not a problem, we could direct them to see this.:sad2: It is hugely frustrating to see all sorts of empty tables, and yet have to wait and wait to be seated. Or to not be able to dine at the restaurant at all!

Disney DOES need to do something! I would welcome a non-refundable credit card deposit for all restaurants with open arms!
