Holding Status of 26 Points (2005)??? In Contract...what does this mean?

Hello,

We are waiting to close on a BWV contract that includes 26 points from 2005 that are in HOLDING STATUS. What does this mean? The contract is for a June UY...so I understand that the points need to be used by this upcoming June.

What can I do with these points? Transfer? Rent? What do you suggest?

Since the points must be used (travel completed) by 31 May, it will be tough to use them if you haven't even closed yet.

They can only be used for a reservation 60 days in advance, but you're almost at that point anyway for May 31. If someone is looking for a last minute rental, you may be able to rent them. I don't think you can transfer holding points.

Actually you can. Here's info from MS earlier this year.

Holding account points can be transferred but would retain the same use year and expiration date as
the Member they were transferred from, and would also be transferred as holding account points,
retaining the same booking restrictions.

Reservation points may not be transferred to another member, although you are more than welcome to
book a reservation for a third party on your Membership with any Reservation points that you may
have.
