Holding Points

I have read references to "HOLDING POINTS". What are they?

If you cancel a reservation less than 31 days out from the arrival date your points go into a "holding account" They can only be used to make reservations 60 days or less from the arrival date so can be somewhat of a challenge to use at certain times of the year. I just recently was able to make reservations for March 11 and 12 using holding points that would have expired as of March 31 if not used. They were from a reservation that was cancelled at the 29 day out mark in September. You cannot bank or borrow holding points so must use them before the end of the UY they fall in.
