Holding acct. Can this be done??????

Okay I have 3 points in my holding acct. which came from SSR points My UY is Oct so they have to be used by Oct. 09. Okay.....we can't book these holding points til 60 days out right???? In Dec. I am booking our summer trip...hopefully at BCV. So If I get that booked and then at the 60 day mark....can I call MS and they swap out the 3 holding points with the 3 of the booked BWV points?? MY banking window is end of May so if I can do this before the end of May....those 3 swapped out points could be banked right???

Would be nice to know this also...your BCV booking will be within the 7 month period, but you may have to actually cancel a night and try to rebook. Would it be possible to book two separate reservations at BCV, one for just 1 night (in case you had to cancel) and another reservation for the rest of the time...then perhaps later you could link the two.

Not sure... maybe someone knows the answer.

It depends. Only if there is room availability for a NEW reservation, then MS could switch the points. Otherwise, it defeats he purpose of a holding account.

If you could not call and make a new reservation that day, then they should not swap the points.

Okay I see what you mean. So if I call mid May to try and swap them....ms WOULD HAVE to have a room available at BCV in order to make that swap happen...even though I am not really making a ressie??? Am I following this right??

Okay if these 3 points are SSR points and are also staying at AKV this summer in July on AKV points...could I swap the holding out for AKV and then bank those 3 AKV points????? If ressies are available at AKV Kidani in mid May at the 60 day mark. It just makes me sick that I might lose 3 points. Crazy huh????

Again, if a room is available at AKV for a new ressie, yes, you should be able to switch. Keep in mind, that basically, it would be like cancelling and rebooking, based upon availability...only they aren't actually cancelling the original reservation, but are moving around the points.

It all depends upon availability.

UGH Okay..thanks. This is why I asked all this. Today I called MS to check on my waitlist. I have a waitlist at SSR for the 26th but was booked at OKW for the 26th as backup. She said no that it didn't come through but she would just check while to see if anything was available. She had a 2 br lockoff (same thing we were in at OKW for that last night) and so as she was cancelling the OKW for the SSR.....I lost the SSR and the OKW. She was however able to book me a 1 br. at SSR thus leaving me with 3 points in holding.

It can be done. While technically it should be a cancelation and rebooking, it is not always done that way. And even if it is, it's not a big deal to change out the points. If any of the days are available, you should be able to do this with no problem with essentially no chance of losing what you have.
