Holding a place in line?

How do people feel about this?

For example, if my sister and my dad go do EE FP while my mom and I wait in line before the Nemo musical showing, would it be bad for them to join us after their FP in line about 30 minutes before the show time?

I kinda feel bad doing it, but we're coming from Safari right before and don't want to miss the Nemo show. I guess we could skip EE altogether..?

I don't think so.

We had around a 60 minute wait for both 7DMT and Test Track last summer. One both rides, a couple was ahead of us, then more and more kept arriving. The TT one was bad. At least 6 other people showed up and now their party of two is 8. They didn't arrive all together. They just meandered in from whatever else they were doing. It was very frustrating.

I get bathroom breaks (If you have kids, you've been through that!) It was two people holding the spot so the others could do something else.

What our family would do in that situation is all enter the Nemo line together. Everybody's got to decide what's right or wrong for themselves.

Oh, and let me be the first to offer the obligatory "child has to go to the bathroom!" exception which gets injected into every line-cutting thread.

Now, back to our regularly-scheduled debate, already in progress.

Fail. ;)

Ahh I see. I guess we'll wait somewhere in front of Nemo and when they join us we can get in line together. Hopefully we'll make it into Nemo!

I wouldn't do it.

As you describe it, your sister and dad would be line cutters and that's not good. Most people are fine with people that have been on line and need to make an emergency bathroom break (especially with young kids) so they leave and then rejoin their party. Many people rightfully get annoyed at people that have out have a grand time elsewhere and where not previously on line but think they should be able to cut ahead to join other family members. If the show is not crowded it probably won't make a difference, but we've had the unfortunate luck of having missed two different shows because someone cut ahead of us and we were literally the ones right behind the rope for the next show. In one case, we didn't have time to wait and ended up missing the show altogether for that trip.

Wait outside the queue and go in together. Set an example for everyone else.

It was what the Fast Pass system is for. If you think timing will be an issue, get a FP for the Nemo show at that time.
Make the FP for you and your Mom for the Nemo show since you aren't going on EE.
Give your Magic Bands to your sister and dad after your Safari ride.
You and your mom stand in line for Nemo since you have time to kill.
Your sister and dad show up and use the Fast Pass to get into the show (without having to wait in line).
Everybody sees the show (though may not be able to sit together).

Though, since it is a show .. I doubt you would have any issue getting in or getting a seat .. even during peak times.
The only issue you would have is if your sister and dad can't make it to the show until after the show starts (where they won't let you in).

I wouldn't do it myself but I also wouldn't get upset if someone in front of me did it. It happens to too often to get upset about it. Like others have said, that show rarely needs to be lined up that far in advance for. I've just walked in at show time a number of times.
