HoJos worst?

It would be lovely in some ways to be able to have the cash to stay onsite with the WONDERFUL Disney service, but some of us on the DISboards simply can't afford that. From what I have heard on these boards, sometimes the Disneyland onsite hotels offer smaller, cramped rooms compared to Hojo's. Especially when factoring in the kid's suite at Hojo's! Hojo's is also nice, clean and comfortable. We could never justify paying such a high price on an onsite room for the same 'nice, clean and comfortable' factor when Hojo's is such a pleasure to stay at.

For every one handful of those who proclaim they don't like Hojo's, I have a hunch that there are several more handfuls of Hojo's 'cheerleaders' :cheer2: on these boards who enjoy Hojo's tremendously.

You have a right to your opinions, all of you... whether you like or dislike Hojo's for your own personal reasons. I do understand that. :goodvibes

I haven't had the privilege to stay at a Ritz Carlton so as far as I can see, Hojo's is the Ritz to me. So if that's what I sound like, maybe it's because that's what I think it is.

:flower3:

And that's fine, I'm glad people enjoy where they stay! We can't always afford to stay onsite either. But when we have that's about the only time I "rave" about a place. We enjoy our stays at the Tropicana though. Quiet, clean, nice pool area, but the location has us coming back again and again.

Perhaps we would have liked HoJo's better if we hadn't stayed in building 1. Our room was facing Disney, so I thought we wouldn't hear the freeway. But we were on the VERY end of the building. So we heard quite a bit of freeway/street noise. I think the noise was a huge issue for us, and if we had stayed in a different building we would have been better off.

I think you're right, building one, Disney view might have been perfect for you - when we stayed there, we played a 'game' of opening and closing the patio doors and were amazed at how little of the freeway we could hear when the doors were closed. I have never stayed on-property so I really can't judge an onsite stay... it's nice that others can provide insight into that for others here on the boards, though.

20k? That is an enormous sum of money to spend on a trip.

That would be a conservative estimate yes - when we were last there the Aussie Dollar was pretty poor , For a family of four , airfares ( $2200 each back then just for starters ! ) accom and spending yes 20K is pretty conservative probably more like 25K .

Thankfully the Aussie Dollar is now on parity with the US Dollar and thus the cost of travel has reduced significantly
