So I was scanning the HoJo's discussion board & a family of 6 was inquiring about room options (I believe it was from 09) & they were told either 2 rooms or a suite. When I looked at the suites, they said up to 5 people. So did the policy change due to fire codes or do the suites accomidate 6 people?

We have my husband & I, a 10 & 6 yr old & then twin 4 yr olds that are delayed & autistic (who are too big for the cribs but also won't be able to sleep on the beds).......so if we have to do 2 rooms, I'll still have all 6 of us in one room for sleeping. (the twins will be on the floor). So the 2nd room would go un-used.......heavy sigh.

Adding a 2nd room or going for a suite really raises the prices & we can't afford that.

I know there are cheaper options other than the HoJo, but we really enjoyed our stay there last summer (we had 10 people & 2 rooms) & would like to be able to stay here again.

If someone from the HoJo is checking the threads, I'd love an answer or advice on our situation.

Other opinions are welcomed as well. I've stayed at the Desert Inn & Suites before, but really don't want the twins sleeping on their floors.......unless things have changed drastically since 05.

I think there was a similar thread not long ago about this, and there were more people who knew more than I do about situations like yours, so you might want to try and find it. But as far as I know, it's a fire code issue, and all hotels will be the same. But like I said, I could be wrong...

Thank you, I went back & found it.....but the confusion is still there. She was wanting to book the Premium View rooms for 6 people & were told they had too many people but offered the kids suite.

The HoJo GM commented that the rooms really aren't set up for 6 so now I'm more confused on whether or not 6 people are allowed in any of their rooms or not.......... :confused3

Hmmm, maybe you could PM the person who represents HOJO on here? I'm sorry i can't be more of a help, I know that must be very frustrating!

Hey Laurie! Unless they have changed it recently, you CAN put 6 people in their Kid's "pirate" suite. We have done it. They have a king bed in one room and bunk beds in the other, as well as twin sofa sleeper. You can request a roll-away for the sixth person, although we didn't since our special need's son slept in the king bed w/ us. :)

It's a good deal if you can get the $99 rate! :thumbsup2

The kids' suite at Hojo isn't really that much more $$ than a standard room. $99.00 vs $59.00 +$15 for a rollaway when the 'retro rate' is offered. We have APs so only checked rates with that 20% off discount but a standard room when no 'retro rate' is offered is $118.00 (plus $15/rollaway bed) and the kids' suite is $155.00.

I hope you sort out the different rates and it works out for your family :)

You were helpful, thank you!! I did PM to see what our options are.

Hey Becci!! That's awesome.....when I looked on the website it said 5 people.......so wasn't sure if it had changed or not.

The twins would sleep on the floor, since falling out of the "big" beds would be an issue........so this set up would be great. Do they have a few of these suites or just one??

I "think" they have two or three on each floor of building 1 - they all face the highway.

I noticed that it said "five" also when I was checking for one earlier this week. But I knew we had all stayed there in the past so I went looking for info on their discussion board. I found where someone had asked that exact question and HOJO had answered that six was allowed in the kid's suite. :thumbsup2

Thank you!! Since we haven't glued down our dates yet, I'm not sure if the "Retro" rate would factor in. I probably will be getting an AP again, so knowing it's a 20% disc. helps!!

That's good to know......I did look at the floor layout & it seems a little more than we really need.......we stayed in the Premium View rooms last summer & our room was more than big enough for us.......so hoping there might be exceptions to the rules since we aren't asking for additional beds. Sent a PM to the GM & hoping to hear back on this issue.

I remember reading about the kid suites when they first added them. I believe there are 2 per floor in building 1, and building 1 has 7 floors, so 14 kid suites in total.

We did finally try one of these suites, and our family enjoyed having all the space and 2 bathrooms!

I really don't think there will be an exception to the rule about the premium view rooms. I know the manager made a comment about not fitting two rollaways in the room, but I believe the real issue is Anaheim fire code which limits a room that size to 5 guests. Hopefully you will get a definitive answer soon.

If you do need to go with the kid suite, I hope you enjoy it. Sometimes it is nice to have a little more space for everyone to move around in especially after having a really tiring park day or a whole lot of together time.

Thank you!!! On the kids suites, is there a door between the 2 rooms......I really need to make sure the twins don't get up & start wandering all over in the middle of the night. The more contained we can keep them the better.

The good news about the kid suite is that there is a door between the room with the king bed and the room with the bunk beds. There is a bathroom on each side. What may be problematic for you is that the door to the outside is on the bunk bed side of the suite. We lock the door and the security chain/bar/whatever and don't have to worry with our boys because they would never even try to go out anyway and would never try to unlock all that stuff even if the idea got into their heads to go out. I don't know if this would be a concern for you with the twins.

We'd probably put the twins in the side with us.....I'm not concerned about the older 2 going out without us. Thank you for all the information!! :flower3:

As a mom I know that peace of mind is priceless. Have you ever considered getting something like this?

Thank you....that's pretty cool!!!

I'm not AS concerned of them opening the doors, but climbing on everything & falling off or getting into something they shouldn't (garbage, toiletries, toilet water, etc)......both girls like crinkly garbage & climbing.....they climb everything & it doesn't matter how many times they fall off, they go right back to doing it. The one twin that is cognatively at 6-8 month old, is our night time partier.......we hear her up & playing in her room....favorite toy at 3am......the door stop that goes......BOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG. lol

But I may pick up one of those portable door alarms.....as opening doors will be the next thing they'll master.
