Hojos- 5 to a room?

Is this the HoJo's across the street? I've read some really bad reviews on it if it is. I can give you some recs if you want which would probably be cheaper.

I'm not sure where you read the reviews, but it is one of the most popular hotels with people on this board. :)

I usually find a good Hojo's prepay rate through my AAA site. It's not a AAA rate, because I'm not a member, but it's a pre-pay rate. $180 seems too high to me, unless it's a holiday weekend or something.

And yes, the rollaways are pretty comfy.

Just reserved a 2 queen room, bld 2, pool veiw. Used DIS or Mousesavers 15% discount (just ask) My res says Occupancy: 5 people max. With tax for 9/10 was only $116.32 tot.
No entertainment rate for my date.

I enjoyed HOJO's but there is no way I would pay $180 what type of room was it? I was looking last night at various hotels both best western park place inn and Castle Inn were way less than that for suite type rooms.

:)

We have the hotel booked for March 2011. We are a family of 5 and we will have the roll away bed in our room. (No sleeping on the floor) The price is either $7.00 or $10.00 per night. I likely wouldn't pay $15.00:scared1: That is rediculious. We are just under $100.00 per night with the 15% disboard discount. Still waiting for entertainment rate to come out for our dates. If it is not cheaper then I will still save then staying at a Disney hotel, since as of January 2011 they are chargeing for parking on top of the resort fee. Highway robbery or what:scared1:

Make sure you're on hojoanaheim.com.

Make sure, when you call, that you call the direct number with the 704 area code, and that you call during Pacific Time business hours AND ask for "in house reservations".

Do it any other way and you'll get the 800# people and they haven't a clue about what the Anaheim hotel on Harbor does.

From a post on hojoanaheim's discussion board, from April '09:

"Rollaway beds are $10 per night + tax and cribs are free of charge! They can be added to any of our rooms with two beds- Standard, Deluxe, Premium and the Suites".

I would definitely call the 704 number to see if that's changed, IF you previously called the 800 number.

OK, well thanks for the tips! I was going to give up on Hojo and move on.

Online, it was $165/night + $15 for the rollaway= $180/night (plus taxes) for a 2 queen room, I believe. (as I wrote above, the $15 was quoted directly through the hotel via e-mail.) Nothing fancy. Just looking for the least expensive where the 5 of us can sleep.

I don't have an entertainment book, nor do I have AAA. So I can just call them directly and ask for the "disboard discount"? I'll certainly give it a shot, but if the regular rate is $165, I wonder what kinda discount they're going to give. :confused3 That seems like a pretty substantial discount you guys have gotten!

No, it's not a holiday weekend. Just Tuesday, Sept. 28th. :) One night.

Help me out here. LOL I obviously don't have a clue what I'm doing. :rolleyes1

Info on the Entertainment Book and discount.

They add dates ALL the time. Right now the closest date is the 26th, but they *could* add it in the future.

And if you have this 165 rate booked, then see that the 28th is added to the list (I would check this thread often! and "friend" them on facebook b/c they update there as well), you can call the local number and change your rate to the Ent Rate. And then you could buy an Entertainment Book or the card from a book (from ebay, usually)...would be worth the savings!

But YES do call and change the 165 to the Disboards percentage off for now.

Thanks! :cool1:

I didn't book the $165. I'm looking for something much closer to $100/night.

Do you have the link for facebook? I can't find 'em.

Call the hotel just like everyone else has said, IN HOUSE reservations.

I there..on our last 2 trips we have stayed at the HOJO....love, love, love it...on our last trip, 8 of our 10 nights had the entertainment rate..so 59 a night for 8 nights...BUT then when we were there, a ninth night came up and we got it also :cool1: :cool1:

Only 1 night we had to pay above the 59 and it was 118 i think...( we had a 2 queen bed room)

On our first trip staying there we had five in a room and used the cot and were never charged...my daughter thought it was very comfortable!

We booked the priate suite for January and our entertainment rate just came up about 2 weeks ago. It sleeps 5 and was only $99.00 a night. It has a king bed in 1 room with own bathroom and other room has a set of bunkbeds and a pullout sofa bed with a bathroom. Very roomy!

I stayed at the HoJo this April in a double room in Building 4. I was travelling with my Aunt and my daughter. The plan was to let my daughter sleep with me in one of the doubles but she had a wicked cough and we used the roll-away that was in the room (this was the first time in three visits that we actually had a roll-away in the room) so that everyone got more sleep.

I didn't see the tag on the roll-away until the second night but I was never charged for it. I would have paid it happily because everyone slept better for it.

Stayed at Hojo in late July in Building 1, two queens. Plenty of room to sleep for me, DW, DD2, DS5 and my Mom. We didn't get a roll away or anything. Total was $210 for 2 nights and I booked through AAA. We were on the 5th floor and could see Matterhorn from our balcony. Freeway noise was minimal.

Alrighty, well I finally got a chance to call them. Spoke to the Anaheim location directly.

No suites available that entire week. :( Bummer! I didn't think mid-week, end of September with a 6 week notice would be that difficult.

The best I could get was 2 queens with a rollaway for $116.15/night. Much better than I got online, but that still seems like a lot more than you guys were paying.

I'm wondering if I should go ahead and book that or start checking out some of the other local hotels. :confused3

I'll do a search, but does anybody have a picture of the Hojo's room w/ 2 queens (and preferably a rollaway) ? :) Just wondering how much room there would be. Gosh, that suite sure looked perfect!!

Right now I have a 2 queen deluxe room booked for mid-Sept and that rate is going to be $111.20 (that is with the 20% AP discount), I am holding out hope that the entertainment rates will show up.

If you go to this link - you can see pics of the rooms.

We had plenty of room using the rollaway. :thumbsup2
