We currently have reservations at Hojo (pool facing room) for 8 nights, all 8 nights at entertainment rate.
With the new 5 for 3 deal, I could do a split stay, 3 nights Hojo and 5 nights Paradise Pier (standard room) for an additional $483.
Give me your input, advise and thoughts. Should we do it or just stick with all nights at Hojo?

By the way it is me, DH, DS (about to turn 6) and DD (just turned 4)
We will have a rental car (not sure what parking is like at PP)-- and I have included resort fees in my $$ figures

Stick with the HoJo unless you think the extra MM's are worth almost $500, because really, that's the only benefit IMO. What time of year are you going? I think your kids will enjoy the water play area at the HoJo more than the PPH pool. The walk is about the same.

I have stayed at both! Twice! Actually, 3 times now at hojo.

For that amount of money, I'd stay with hojo. If they were equal, I'd think about PPH, and that's what caused our stay there last December (the AP rate at PPH was about he same as the rate at hojo until the very last minute).

The walk is about the same (when you go from PPH through GCH and into the last half of DTD...it seems much longer if you follow the signs and go ALL the way through downtown disney!), and you can hear Disneyland music while walking back to hojo, if you walk on the disney side of Harbor.

The PPH is a total bore. Your kids are still too young, really, for the slide, whic doesn't even go into the pool itself. And other than that, it's just a rectangle.

The pool at HoJo is lovely and in a garden-type area, and the water play area looks like huge amounts of fun (I haven't yet been there with DS when it's open).

MM is great, but with an 8 day stay it's not anything you *have to* do, b/c you are going to have plenty of time to experience the Fantasyland and Tomorrowland rides anyway.

HoJo's!!! Our 1st 2 nights this past Dec. were at HJ our last night was at PP. I very much prefer HoJo. Will you have a MM? If not (AP holders) I'd maybe stay one night (last night, first night) at PP to get a MM ~ that's why we stayed there in Dec. But if you're spending multiple days (how many??) in the parks maybe a MM won't really matter. Just do the MM rides on a non MM day(s).

I vote the Hojo as well....Your kids will love the pirate ship....Save the extra $$ and put it towards something else....

Thank you everyone. You all have told me exactly what I needed to know/be reminded of.

I also say stay with the HOJO. Only because you got the great Ent. Card rate and there is such a price difference. I love the HOJO and have stayed there 5 times within the past year!:thumbsup2
But, I have a trip planned for May 29-June3rd at HOJO but was only able to get the AP rate (20% off). With this new promotion we are able to move to the PPH for under $100 difference! AND we get an extra night and two extra days on our park hoppers. The added bonus is that since one of my kids still has an active AP, we can all use the MM. We will be converting our Park Hoppers to AP's on this trip.
They are both great hotels, and if I can get the Ent Card rate I stay at HOJO. But that rate is hard to come by these days unless you plan way in advance! :)
