I was told that the standard queen rooms do not have microwaves. Are these the only ones without them?
Is it possible to rent one or is there one onsite that I can use?

Just contact the "in-house reservations" directly and request for a microwave...I think it is an extra $15 a night if your room doesn't have it in already.

Phone #: 714-776-6120 In house reservations.

Hojo loves to help:banana:

I would call Hojo's and ask. The price of renting a microwave each night might be more than just upgrading to a deluxe queen room each night. Those rooms do have microwaves.

The price difference between a standard room (w/double beds) and a deluxe queen room for my July trip is only $8 a night. :wizard:

I booked under the 3 night 25% off discount so I dont think I can change it.
When I booked, I thought there was a microwave in the room. :(

I called and they said the only way I can get a microwave is to upgrade to a room that has one... Unfortunately, they are booked!

Thanks for all the suggestions!:)

I've travelled all over the country and somehow I have never heard of a hotel NOT having a microwave. I would be furious if I showed up and there wasn't one... Guess I learn something everyday.

Gosh, I've been in lots of hotels without microwaves. Just in Anaheim, we've stayed in Candy Cane Inn, Comfort Inn Maingate, Disneyland Hotel, and Paradise Pier standard rooms. None of those had microwaves. The standard rooms at Hojos don't have microwaves either. Maybe it's a Disneyland-area hotel thing...if you're going to stay there anyway, providing a bunch of extras may not be looked at as "necessary" by management. I've been in some hotels and motels in other cities as well though that don't have microwaves. DH says there are microwaves in most of the places he stays in for business, but he doesn't use them. For us, it's not a deal breaker. Anything that we consider essential for our trip we call and ask about ahead of booking.

Try the Mandarin Oriental hotel chain, no fridges or microwaves. Many, many places do not, especially overseas.

I'm in a Marriott right now and have no microwave.

I'm glad someone mentioned it about the HoJo though. My family is staying there in the near future.

Most of the hotel rooms I have stayed in do NOT have a microwave, but then again we favor lower priced hotels, so that might be the difference. Definitely not that uncommon.

The last few times we were in Las Vegas we stayed at the Mirage, MGM Grand, Bally's and I don't recall any of them had microwaves in the room. I believe MGM Grand Signature rooms do, I guess we weren't expecting much going into HOJO.

I just happened upon this thread. If you really want a microwave without upgrading, have one shipped directly from Amazon to HOJO in your name for $50. As I understand it, people always get stuff shipped to hotels now because the price of luggage on airlines is too expensive.

I'll bet you could pass it on!

We will be staying in one of the Disney View premium rooms and I saw a video "tour" of the room that had a microwave, but read elsewhere that they do not have them. The only thing we might use it for would be to pop some popcorn, so it's really not a big deal, but I was curious as to if they do or do not have them.

It says on the HoJo website that the premium queen rooms have microwaves. Where did you read that they did not?

We stayed at the Grand California in a standard room and they did not provide a microwave. We didn't want to upgrade rooms to get one. Luckily I called ahead and asked. We drove from the Bay Area and ended up buying a small microwave for $40. Much cheaper than upgrading rooms!

When we stayed at hojos I upgraded our room so we could get a microwave. Only used it once, for popcorn, so I think its actually something we will pass on. We had good intentions but ended up not leaving the park to eat at the hotel like we though we would.

Before paying more for a room to use one or buying one I would think about if you are really going to need it.

It was on a thread several months ago, nothing official from HoJo's.

I was just curious because we have two premium rooms booked in October. We did it mostly for the Disney view and the microwave and I was going to rethink my plans if something changed.

I like the idea of ordering one from Amazon and having it shipped to the hotel if there isn't one in your room. For less than $50 - including S/H - it may be cheaper than paying to upgrade a room. Also you could do a good deed by making the microwave available after your trip to anyone who wants to come and get it - igood karma!

Ooh, that also reminds me - I need to check Amazon for a good car seat for our August trip. We've got a 4 yr old in our group (turns 5 the day we get back) who'll need one, and I think it's cheaper to have one shipping for Amazon rather than paying the car rental folks $12 a day!
