Anyone stayed in one yet? Anything pirate-y about them other than the few pirate-y pics I see on the walls in the pics on the website? I know they are all on the freeway side, but is there a certain floor or room that one would recommend? Haven't stayed there yet but have reservations for this fall. Can't wait!

Are they done yet? I guess I should go to the website....

I was inquiring about these several months ago I had no idea they were done!

We're staying in one for the first time in just two days. Our kids are really excited to sleep in bunkbeds and play in the Castaway Cove water playground.

I actually gave them the choice of where to stay between the HOJO (in a pirate kid suite) or the Paradise Pier. The cost was about the same because the Paradise Pier had a unbelievable rate of $91 per night!

Anyway, they picked the HOJO because it had bunkbeds, they would have their own room, and although the water slide at the Paradise Pier is longer and bigger, they thought Castaway Cove looked like more fun because (in their own words), "It has more stuff to play with."

We check in on Monday afternoon, and I plan to take lots of pictures. I'll try to report back on the new rooms once we get there since I'll have my laptop.:thumbsup2

I would like to see those pics too...

We are heading there in March. Debating on hotel stay as we speak..

There is a good little video of the suites on the hojo discussion boards... I would like to see some pictures too! I booked one for the week before Xmas and can't wait! We were in a regular room a few weeks ago and the kids really liked the water play area. :)

As Kim says, there's a video on the Hojo website, they look amazing, so amazing that I just cancelled the booking I made 2 hours ago, and have re-booked for the kids suite! We don't have really young kids in the party, my DS is 15, but it was only $10 more per night than the disney view double queen room, and we would rather have 2 rooms/baths/tvs. :) Also DD 20 is a big Pirates fan, so will love the themeing.

The video is really good, check it out here:

Just click on the 'suites' photo.

I love the videos they've made, especially the laundry room one, lol, great sense of fun! :rotfl2:

Yep, that's the good thing about a pirate-themed room...it works for a 3 year old AND a 20 year old. :)

Guess we'll have to wait for your pictures, Disney-Super-Mom. Have a good time!

Hi,

I just got back from 8 nights in a kids suite. You can check out my photos of the room here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=301941&id=878810622&l=b83d80a9b1

The room was VERY nice, we loved the decor and the bright carpet :) Everything was so clean. We were in room 1702, on the top floor, next to the elevators in building 1. The freeway noise was not an issue for us - we slept with the airconditioning on anyway, so that blocked out the freeway noise.

There was no treasure chest or wireless internet in the room (there was wired internet and you can get a wireless signal if you are near the lobby), but we knew that ahead of time. Housekeeping was great and the room was always cleaned very quickly.

The beds are extremely comfortable and even my girls loved their bunk beds. The sofa bed in the kids room was a true twin size. The wall-mounted LCD/Plasma tvs were a really nice touch as well and we also enjoyd the fancy coffee machine (flavored coffees and hot chocolate pods are available for purchase in their store).

Any questions, just ask :)

So glad to hear you enjoyed the room, we've booked one for next July. I thought those rooms had the internet, surprised that yours didn't as it is listed on the room description in my booking. :confused3 Great that the freeway noise didn't bother you, as that was a concern of ours. Would you say that the bunk beds were the length of a single bed or shorter?

The room definately had internet, just not wireless internet. You are able to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable. In the original promo video that was shown, it mentioned wireless internet... I was told that there was a delay in this, but maybe they will have the wireless internet working by the time that you go.

The bunkbeds are standard twin size. There is not a lot of head room on the bottom bunk (I was not able to sit up without hitting my head), but if you have a smaller child on the bottom, it would not be a concern.

I would suggest requesting a room close to the elevator, as they say that the freeway noise is lesser closer to that end of the building. We did not hear any elevator noise either.

Ah I see, thanks for confirming the internet. :thumbsup2 That's great to hear the bunkbeds are standard twin size, as I have two teens, so sounds like they will be fine.

Thanks for the tip re location, I will add that to my booking! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the info Cloei 13. Very helpful. I guess the pirate pictures are it, as far as pirate-theming goes? Still looks really fun! :)

We stayed in a Kids Suite in the beginning of August. I posted several photos in the Hotel Room Photo's thread.

It was great, nice and new and CLEAN!
