Hojo entertainment rate ?

While having an Orange County book might be nice for the discounts in the area, the HOJO does require that the book you use is Orange County. You can purchase any Enterainment book and the card in it will work for their discount.

Also FYI you have to CANCEL via the in house ressie line. I recently cancelled one and called the normal 1800 ressie number, and they said the ressie was non-refundable. Then I called in house and was able to cancel it! (phew- i was sweating that).

Yes, everything regarding the entertainment rate should be done through in-house reservations at the Anaheim hotel itself and not through the 1-800 number. The 1-800 people don't know what is going on with Anaheim's entertainment rate. They have caused a lot of confusion for many people. I'm glad it all worked out for you! :)

Update called in house today got oct 21-26 at 59 a night tax out the door 69.03

I have 30 days before oct 21 to cancel no charge

Cancel after 30 days get charged 1 night stay

We have stayed there before at that rate and really you can't beat that price and it's a nice hotel

Glad you were able to get the awesome retro rate, and thanks for the confirmation on the cancellation policy when making the reservation with the in-house staff. Have a great trip! :)

I think you mean the HOJO does NOT require that the book you use is Orange County.

So does that mean that July 2012 is gone for the entertainment rate?

The rates are used for slow periods. You won't find July at that rate.

While I agree that the rates are most often used for slow times, that doesn't preclude getting them at other times although it is not as common these days as in years past. I got one night at the entertainment rate during spring break (the week after Easter) just last month. I have booked the ET rate for Thanksgiving week each of the last several years. Back in 2008 that even included Thanksgiving Day itself, not the last three years though. I have had President's Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, and, yes, some summer dates in the months of June, July and August although the last time was July 2010. The best chances of getting those rates are a long, long time before the actual dates or really, really close to the dates.

All that being said, with how busy DLR is expected to be this summer season with the re-launch of DCA and the opening of Carsland and so on, I would guess that Hojo will not feel motivated to offer ET rates for summer dates that they will most likely be able to get full occupancy for at higher rates. It never hurts to keep a look out for the rate to come up, but don't count on it happening and plan accordingly.

I agree- I have veterans' day weekend (Th/Fri/Sat nights) AND MLK Weekend in January- which is the Tinkerbell Half Marathon (registration opens 7/12:yay:) already booked at the Ent Rate all 3 nights. I'm happy, but we book the kids suite which honestly isn't that much cheaper with an Ent Rate (meaning, like $10-20/night). I wish we could save a ton with a 2Q, but my husband loves the kids suite and can't imagine sleeping in a "normal" room after that:mad: (we have stayed there 3 times in the last 6 months!). The 2Q are an amazing deal!

My best advice for the Ent Rates is to check the website often (a few times/week), have dates already in mind or be flexible, and book the minute you see it. Don't wait! They post and take them down quickly!

We're booked for a kids suite for the Tink 1/2 too! I jumped on the rate right away. Couldn't believe they added it since it's MLK weekend. This'll be my 2nd running of the Tink but last year I stayed at BW Stovalls to be close to the race. Did you run the Tink this year? If so, did you stay at HoJos? How was transportatiin to and from the race from there?

Can someone tell me when in house reservations are available? Is it monday thru friday 8-5? Thanks!

Hi-
Sorry for the delay in responding- just caught up with my forums!

So YES I did run the Tink half marathon this year and did stay in a kids suite at HoJos. My transportatiin to and from the race = my feet. It was a pretty long walk (20 min?). I left HoJo around 4:20am for the 5:45am start. I was really worried it was going to be dark, cold, and deserted but from the moment I stepped out of the elevator there were tons of runners. The sidewalks were full of them even out on Harbor!

I wish DH had met me at the finish, but I didn't want him to have to drive over to DTD and park there. I guess maybe next year I'll ask him but with road closures for the race I'm not sure he could have easily figured it out.

HoJos is a great location to watch the race. It was too early for DH and the kids to watch this year, but next year I'll ask them to get up and go watch around the 8mile mark at Harbor/Ball. That's just about a block (over the freeway) away.

I guess it would be nice to be closer to the start, but we only stay at the HoJo kids suite (we've stayed there 3 times since last November, and have it booked in August, Nov and then Jan for the Tink). So a different hotel is not an option at all.
