Buildings 1 and 2 have elevators. Buildings 3, 4, 5, and 6 are two story buildings that have stairs to get the second floor. Many of the rooms in Building 2 have balconies, and are very quiet. The rooms are large, and for a family of 4 there's lots of room. We stayed in Building 2 in Feb/09, and found it to be very quiet, even though we were next to the elevators on the top floor. Am planning on booking an NQQ2 room again for our surprise Feb/11 family trip to the mouse in Oct while on my solo trip to the mouse (I get to go before the kids do snicker1). The best recommendation for a hotel is alot of repeat customers, and HOJO's has alot of visitors like us who, stayed there once, and won't stay anywhere else when visiting the mouse. Hope that this helps you out.
Anyway you can phone the hotel directly and put requests into your reservation, like if we were to get one of these rooms again I would request one like we've had before, 2nd floor or higher, facing towards the east so the sun comes onto the balcony in the morning, etc. I think our favorite was on the 4th floor, room 2424ish... some of the rooms have only little step out balconies, no room to sit....
We love building 2, but I usually request a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor toward the Harbor Blvd. side. On our first trip there, we were in a room on the top floor at the end of the bldg. nearest the freeway. It was pretty noisy, so after that time, I made sure to put in the request that I mentioned. On our last trip, we had a room on the 2nd floor, mid-building, with a wonderful view of the pool. It was very quiet, and we really enjoyed that location. I will try to always request that area on our future trips.
